Wait a minute...you spent all this time and money building this "supercar", and you left the stock Boxster axles in it?

Why would a nearly equally sized injector (just 150cc smaller) provide substantially better drive-ability? Are you saying the Bosch are just better units with a more controlled/refined spray pattern or is it high vs. low impedance difference?

when i broke mine i learned the axle is considered a "mechanical fuse" allowing the axle to break instead of the mainshft in the trans.( the theory is better to break a 1000$ axle vs 6000$ TRANS REBUILD) of course randy's car is fully beefed up in the trans dept and can use the 1000 hp axles

No expert here but from what I gather, the 2150's are modified and have a

very unusual spray pattern that doesn't lend itself to easy tuning.

The Bosch units are big but conventional and much easier to tune with.

In other words, it's def not the 150cc difference that makes the 2150's

difficult to work with. Maybe someone more knowledgable can chime in....

lol I know you and you would be easier on my car then you would on your

own!

Yep, keep your eye out for an axle for me. I really don't wanna pay 3k

for a new one if I can get away with it.

Errol McCollum at TPS doesn't have a good opinion of the 2150s. After

he brought it to my attention, I did a little research and there is a

definite consensus among the high end tuners that the 2150s are a

nightmare to tune.

Earlier in this thread someone made a comment to this effect. Errol is

tuning the ProEfi as if we were using the 2000's but it's giving everybody

fits.

I have an axle if you need.

On the 2150s a lot is in the spacers not the injectors themselves. They are tricky when it comes to tuning, non linear.

Why does your power drop on the 800hp run ?

Thanx Steve but I need the 1000 hp axle! I'm not launching the car from a dig

until I get the big axle. My 2 step builds about 9 lbs of boost @3000 rpms

in 4th........not that big of a shock to the system. I'm gonna try revving it

up to 3500 and push the button. I got a 5.14 with making 9lbs of boost

going into the 60-130. If I can get another 150-200 rpms, I'll go into it

@ 10 or 11 lbs and it'll put me in the 4s!

I got a 5.18 with a 3-4 shift. All of this was in 70s and 80 degree weather.

If it was 50 ish, I'd already be in the 4s.

Thanks Mark! I'm gonna try to find a decent deal on a 1000 hp job but if I

break this one in the mean time I;ll hit you up! Again, thank you

And yep, that what Errol was saying, it's the modification on the injectors.

I think the spacers effect the linear aspect down low especially. They do

an ok job past 2k but below 2k they're erratic.

I can get you a bit of a deal on 1000hp ones but it's still big $. Had to do them my self in the spring. Surprisingly in 3 years of drag racing this car I only broke one axle....at Atco in theburnout box.

I am up for any and all "deals" lol! Shoot me a pm.

I've still got a lot of odds and ends to tie up on the car. I'm gonna do it over

the next 4 or 5 weeks and take a financial breather!

We probably have another 2 or 3 weeks of back and forth to iron out the

rough spots in the drivability. As for losing the power at the end of the 800

hp pull, we were just hitting a number and he worked on that setting several

hours afterwards.

It was literally a 100 degrees in that garage and he had 2 tiny fans on the

intercoolers and we were running e70 lol! I'll be hitting the local dyno when

we wrap the tuning up. I'm fairly confident it's a true 825 - 850 whp @ 28psi

It's been doing back to back 5.1s 60-130 in high 70 and 80 degree weather.

Yeah man 5.13 was my best at 775-800 power level.

4 second club is where u gotta be with your car

I don't like that dip , gotta keep looking at it and figure out whats up. Proefi logs everything so hopefully u can find the culprit. Might just be those turbos running out of steam on e70.

Speaking of .... Get some e80-85 in there

layinback, do you think you could post some pictures of the new fuel system setup with the magnafuel 750 taking place for one of the 044 on the Radium dual pump set up.
