MadeThe Move To K16/16g Billets From Tony At EPL
Not only was it the MAF forgot to mention my Tony wants a pull from 2000RPM and up does anyone know how high we can go to redline? i still don't so i stop at 6500rpm.
Good news i have the new MAF sensor in and im so glad to say its fixeddddddd lol. I went 102 miles around the city no cell car ran around zeros up and down ST trims and steady LT trims. By the way my spool went even faster in 3rd gear i was fully spooled at 2500rpm is that right? i mean it exploded with power.
Ohh by the way right now i have the new 986 MAF boxster sensor!!! does it matter? if it does or does not i have order a 996 MAF it will be here Monday morning they will swap it for me.
The one on the right shows the bad MAF numbers at idle also bad miss firing and hesitation on light throttle i mean bad bogging. Never have LT trims moving rapidly or high that means something is wrong.
On the left are the new numbers from the brand new MAF installed.
Old MAF at idle was around 0.96lb (something is not right here) Don't get on your car in cold weather. New MAF at idle was around 0.56lb

reading this in wonder. hopefully you've got it figured out. this sh*t is epic.
after all of your issues and your still ruling out the maf! sheesh. tuned cars can easily fry maf and all manner of strangeness occurs after that. did you "hunt" at idle? like a leak? ( btw 986/996 maf same part ) and what do you mean by "you stop" at 6500. just upshift? don't you know your redline!?maybe its been upped to 7200? yeah? you've probably pegged the limiter but hasn't your rev limiter been raised? if not it'll stop for you lol i would imagine it has for your tune and and you should be able to see full boost on the gauge at 2500 if the conditions are right? mine will mostly.

For those who gave me negitive reps whatever! To Tony ill make sure to make it up to you. I know he deals with a charity so ill give him something in his paypal. I have changed my intake to fabspeed so im hoping no more bad MAF.

No sign of the maf going but i did get a small idle rise then goes back down. I never got a hot film code but now if anyone goes through this i hope they check there maf. Im so happy not stressed anymore about this. Before the new maf my car would spool up real late like its hesitating now the new maf it spools right when you floor it kind of scary. I never asked Tony about the rpm limit so i just shift at 6500rpm. I will have a full data log from 3000 to 7000rpm.

don;t peg the maf. it took me two of em to learn it too
so the raised rev limiter to 7200 will NOT save your maf if you fry it with the voltage spike then your car will begin to run like crap.
i can't imagine your tune hasn't raised it probly to 7200 with all the support stuff you have so so you might be leaving a lot on the table by shifting always at 6500 but the way you describe your driving style i'd be really surprised if you haven't pegged the rev limiter at some point and fried that maf. the up/down @ idle is exactly what i was talking about ( hunting ) and though it *feels* like a minor vac leak ) and could be? i guess.. it also can be the maf. so you're good. if this issue did contribute to any of the 37 pages of *our* lives lost here ( lol ) keep that in mind when punching it

So what would be a safe rpm 7000rpm? Theres some mixed emotions i see with the 986 vs 996 maf........ Also they have a ton of these in stock if anyome needs any lol.
maf should be same part and pt number 986/996 ? but 7000 is fine and if it gets there? its been raised. its when you peg the limiter that fries it. doesn;t happen at stock 6750 redline. it's a quirk of tuned cars that exacerbates the weak link maf lol. there may be a mafless tune in our futures
I do not know your build. I do not know if colder plugs would be advisable.

Now ask yourself why tuners started to look for compatible MAF's with greater air flow ranges. Either that or they went to air density.Your might start with your cu ft air demand for your power range and then check the specs of the MAF you are utilizing.
I've been out of this hp/air flow demand range for awhile now, but when we went to a higher flow demand we went to a Mustang MAF. Then to air density.
