Anyone pick up the Cobb Accessport for their 996TT?
So I picked up a fuel pressure test gauge today and did just a quick check at idle and to me it looks wierd. it's rapidly pulsing between 58-60psi and when i attempted to Rev it a little results in a pressure drop and then bouncing back to the 58-60. I believe I read in another fuel pressure thread it should be around 55psi pump on/engine off and 47 at idle.
My understanding is that yes, you can remove the AP from the car once you flash it. Also, if you flash back to stock it can be used on other cars...you just have to flash back to stock always to "open" it again for use on another car.
There is (was) software available to be able to tune yourself. Recently it was taken off the market but looks like soon it will be back with a revision in the way you can get/use the software...

Yes it seems like Sambo are a good guy to deal with, but my 996TT are for sale at my local Porsche dealer.
I am already starting to missing her, and have been thinking of getting her back. Car is 100% stock and have not been modified. If I bring her back, I am thinking to modify for a bit more power.
For a year ago I was in contact with a tuner for a software upgrade, but since I own a dyno, he would only modify my ecu if I sent it to him and he could do a "lock" on it. I never shipped him the ecu, and my car continued remaining stock. He seems like a person with very high competance, but I dont like to have my ecu locked. It is also expensive shipping and time consuming as I live in another country...
The Cobb seems nice as there are already OTS tune available, and you have the opportunity to tweak the map yourself. If you change your mind and put the car back to stock, you can actually sell the unit again, and at least get some money back.

One of the great things about the COBB is that you can send the tuner your logs and they can create a map for you and email it. Then all you have to do is load it on the car. You dont have to worry about taking the ECU out of the car at all. It takes about 10 seconds to load up a new map on the car.
double ++ on the Cobb and Sambo. I got mine the week before my first track day with the turbo. I had a previous unknown tune i was concerned about spiking to 1.2 bar. Did 4 log and install updated tune cycles with Sambo the week before. 1 per day only because i could only do a pull in the evening. He got it just right and it ran awesome at the track. Sambo's the man.
