Anyone pick up the Cobb Accessport for their 996TT?

Call and talk to cobb on monday. It might be possible to download the software to that accesport if the internal hardware is the same.

the biggest drag right now is no availability for accesstuner race. I have protuner software for Subaru and have been tuning those (hundreds and hundreds of them) since 2004 but my hands are tied behind my back on my own personal car. Should have got a 997.1 then I'd be having a blast right now!

^I couldn't agree more. I'm on the fence right now as I want a solution that allows me to do the tweaking. Accesstuner would seal the deal for me.

Not sure why it's available for the 997.1 yet not for the 996?

COBB, if you're reading, please consider making this capability available for the 996!

I have submitted request after request to Tim Bailey who is over all the pro tuning and he just keeps saying he will check, or that it's coming, but nothing ever happens. I love Cobb and their products and people, but it's painfully obvious that the 996 is dead last in terms of priority. If they just came out and said that, I think I would be okay with it, but instead I get my hopes up for nothing. It's gotta happen someday though right?? :-)

I have the Cobb AP (stage 2 93) on my '03 TT (big injectors, big throttle body/ intake, exhaust, and Aquamist) I really think it is vastly superior to my previous TechArt tune. I am certain Cobb is taking a conservative approach to off the shelf tunes due to people "over tuning" their cars. Who would want the bad press associated with a blown engine or two. If people buy more of them, the priority might be greater. My serial number indicates less than 100 have been sold, I have had mine for 3-4 weeks, I'm sure I'll never have to buy another tuning device for this car. Obviously I would recommend. I think the ProTuner is available for our cars

Awesome to hear that you've had great success with your AP. Did you get the stage 2 OTA map protuned through a vender or are you using it in it's stock form?

I see that there's a stage 3 OTA map. Wonder what config that is tailored for.

Off the shelf Stage 2 in its stock form. I am evaluating it for my employer. We will then try the Protuner for my mods. If we like the results we will become a Cobb dealer for their Porsche products.

Where did you find stage 3? I didn't see it on their website.

I believe you have to contact COBB as they're not directly available at their OTS site here - http://www.cobbtuning.com/maps

But there is evidence of a stage 3 mentioned in release notes. What I can glean is that they are for at least 1000cc injectors and exhaust. They probably want to make sure whomever installs them, knows what they are dealing with as it would cause a lean condition with stock injectors.

I spoke to Cobb and they don't have anything they can give me any information on. They have something for the 997.1 but not us. Shame too 'cause I'm about to install a clutch. Would have loved to simply throw in a set of injectors and go!

I just got the Cobb email that AccessTuner Race has been released for all Porsche 996 vehicles! Price tag is $350.

I can't wait to start tuning on my 996 TT!!! I'll be sure to post up my results and findings, but I expect this to work like the other AccessTuner offerings which have been stellar. I've done hundreds of Subaru, along with a handful of GT-R, Ford, and BMW and all have been fantastic. So excited for this.

^Woohoo. I was just bugging Tim and Mitch about it Sunday evening. They had the 996 accesstuner, but hadn't decided to market it at that point. Guess they came around!

I'll be pulling the trigger on this asap.

I have used it quite a bit one subis. It's just like any other tuning software and works very well. It kinda sucks that it's not free like it is for the subis but sense the market it so much smaller they have to recoup the costs on providing it.
I've emailed back and forth with mitch quite a few time. The support is coming and sound like lots are in the work for all the porsche models.

I have a stock 05 996T, Does that mean I am stage 1 with just the AP? What kind of gains can I expect to see?

Also, what do I need to be stage 2? Full Exhaust, or something else? What are the gains expected for that?

Thank you.
