Someone that I know is selling factory nav out of a 2002 turbo. I have a 02 turbo with a bose system. Is this a plug & play or does it get more complicated then that?

I don't know the answer, but make sure you research the antennae system. The Nav needs a GPS antennae. Would need to know if this is installed in a non-Nav car. Keep in mind that this Nav system is over 10 years old. I would give it a C- rating. The new stuff today is much better - touchscreen, Bluetooth, back-up camera, etc....and a much better sound system.....Kenwood makes some nice stuff...A friend of mine just had his whole system replaced in his '04 Turbo...and it is nice.

+1 .... Yeah, I have not really studied up on this particular transplant so I don't have an answer either but my guess is that it would probably be easier to go to an aftermarket head unit.

I really wanted to try and keep my dash looking stock, I have been experimenting with an Audio Control LC8i to give me a full aux input and be able to use my phone or tablet as the source BUT I may just bite the bullet and go with a new head unit too.

Is it a PCM 1 or 2? I swapped out my CDR23 in my 03' for a PCM 2 and it was plug and play. What OEM head unit do you currently have?

You most likely have a CDR23...perhaps it is just plug and play...I'd send a pm to IITURBO looks like he may have done it

This is a cdr23..

The first thing you should do if you want it fully functional is to try to find a map CD for your area that would work with the system. I think you'll find it's not that easy (depending on where you live of course).

I've got a damn nice Alpine NAV in my car. Total number of times I've used it vs Waze on my phone? Nearly zero! Ask yourself, what exactly are you looking for from this swap? It probably won't be better sound, it almost certainly won't be a great GPS, it will look factory....

I just check it, front of the radio says CR220. Does that help?
