Yes k16 frame but the k16 and k24 use the same housings just with different wheel sizes. The k16 turbine does have a weird little hole spot in the outlet the k24 housing does not have. Here is a pic of mine.

Nice! My years old K24 hybrids just did 748whp on E85 and I think it's about out of breathe. I had no specific power level I was shooting for and am beyind thrilled at this much power. Just wish E85 were more readily available down here

Cast 20g wheels? What psi were you running? They have more power potential than that.

I did not know that the housings were the same. What do you think the max is for 18g billet turbos? Would I gain by porting them?

Yes, biggest reason the K24's make more power is simple the larger turbine wheel. Housings are the same.

Well max of billet 18g depends on a lot of things engine flow wise and the turbine wheel size. A k24/billet 18g turbocharger itself is capable of 425-450whp up around 30 psi on e85 or race gas.

Biggest thing people miss when looking at turbo sizes is the restrictions in their engine, not the flow of the turbos. The single biggest thing is having cats, even high flow cats. They create so much backpressue on the turbines and create a huge spike in drive pressure. Simply removing cats can increase flow 50% in some cases.

As for porting, the compressor size of these there is very little gains. The turbine side can greatly be improved as well as the wastegate area, creating better boost control. Porting though is a full circle deal, you have to continue down the line to create the best results. Header porting will help flow as well, then if you really want to increase flow you go into the heads as well.

I am doing some light porting on my heads currently. I am about finished, just need to port match and smooth the bolt on intake pipes. I will get some pics tomorrow, it is coming along nicely. I want to port my k24 billets next if you don't mind showing me what to do. I did port my headers on my last build that blew.

I don't have exact specs on the turbos, they were on the car 7 years ago when I bought it! There's a few old posts about it I'll dig up when I'm on my desktop.

Currently the car is at about 750whp after the latest tweaks and I think we're stopping there, just blew a coolant hose I'm quite certain the wheels are cast and I'm more than happy with the power on E85. I had no target number, I'd have been happy at 700 for sure! I'm staring at EFR turbos as a potential upgrade but it's going to be awhile. If I do this I may add speed sensors to the turbos for grins.

The car is being tuned catless but I'll have cats on it and AWD when I pick it up. The car has fender inlets, 4.5inch SRM intercoolers, an SRM Y-pipe, SRM billet plenum, upgraded TB but not the largest Sean could fit as I'm not expecting 1k power. Headers are aftermarket and IMO junk, the exhaust is stainless Unobtanium. I have backpressure sensors, egt, and the intercooler on the passenger side is instrumented so I should be able to get good data on restrictions, I may add pressure or temp sensors to the inlets.

Garth from TurtleTooned is tweaking the proEFI 128 and I expect to pick it up Friday sometime and fight from NJ to VA

Yes, stock block and E85. Torque is being held down by timing reduction until torque peak passes and boost is increased on the top end to allow power to continue to climb instead of dropping as it did prior to tuning when it was just on gates. I'll try to have power and torque numbers later but I'll do it in another thread of my own I have the dyno data files etc.
