Vanity mirror cover . . .

. . . Fell off when I opened it. I understand this is a common problem. Swapped it out today with a new one. Overall it wasn't too bad. The hardest part for me was soldering the wires with the mirror hanging there. I bet if I would have looked first it would have been easier to take the whole visor off and do it on the bench.

Pics, because I like pics.

I have this roll of 3M vinyl wrap and have not had anything I wanted to wrap yet. Never tried to cover anything with wrap before. I took the old broken vanity mirror cover for practice. This was for practice as I just wanted to see how hard it is to use. It doesn't look too bad, maybe I'll screw it to my work bench.

Next project will be the turn signal stalk switch. My signals don't cancel after turning. Research tells me it's most likely the entire assembly needs replaced. I watched a video on youtube, hoping it isn't too bad. I just bought the car and these are the only two things that need addressed.

Any pointers on the swap?

Had to replace my vanity mirror cover as well. FYI you can use rubbing alcohol to remove the warning message and you will end up with an all black cover.

I had the same issue on the turn signal when I accidentally "held" the stalk while turning. Snapped something inside. The swap was pretty easy if I recall.

Ok, thank you. After looking at the new one I noticed my passenger mirror cover looks kind of old. I may just replace it so they look the same. Did you solder the wires with the sun visor in the car or did you pull it off?

I have an airbag sticker that looks OEM that instructs female passengers to remove tight fitting things like bras I'm going to replace my warning with. It's a close enough to OEM look that it ought to get some double takes
