IMHO, Wilber is one of the best mod concept/design guys around and Protomotive is one of the best software and engineering companies-- that's what I've been trying to tell you guys for months. I hope you believe me now.
I'm glad you started that sentence with IMHO.

Wonder what your lap times would be.

Seems you have an awesome ecu program after engineering out some bugs, so major props there.

10.7 - no internals - great to see it can be done!

A 10 SECOND quarter mile car is so smoking FAST................virtually any SUPERBIKE is your for the taking............also its COOL that any NHRA sanctioned racetrack WILL throw you out IF you dont have a ROLLBAR and are capable of RUNNIN' in the 10's. Very cool.
Nice Job Hamman.........love that front end emergency hook..........it looks bad-***.

I hope that clears up some doubts that people obviously have about my and Wilber's credibility. He and I have worked with Protomotive in refining this car to this point.

Hamann,
I have to agree also. I've learned a lot in my 1st year of owning my Turbo. Information pulled from your cars history and relationship w/ Promotive (and Chads). While all the cars have my respect, "You" represent a well balanced Monster!!!!
Congrats

Hamann,

Congraduations, your time was very impressive. It has definitely beat my time of my last run done by Excellence in May of 2003.

As soon as my injectors arrive, maybe sharkster would be interested in going for a run at Sacramento and I can get you a comparable update.

Again, a job well done.

Could we get a little more color on the braking results?

What tires/brakes did each contestant use?
What were their stopping times? Distances?

TIA,

Could someone please collect all the data for all the cars in the shootout and post in a new thread?? Otherwise I'll have to spend some time doing it myself which I do not mind except that on a dialup connection is a major PITA!!!

My lap time wasn't bad... it beat out the GIAC cars (Sharky and I were very, very close) which you seem to think are clearly superior to mine. My car also has stock brakes and the old H&R coilover.

Is it even just my opinion, or is it now fact that Wilber and Protomotive are among the best? I know you are clearly biased for GIAC, but even you have to admit that Wilber and Protomotive know what they are doing if they can kick *** at 1.2 bar.

I know Garrett Lim has respect for Protomotive, why don't you ask him what he thinks?

I have to say that this event was SO much fun. I really learned what my car's strenghts and weaknesses were. I think that is what everyone who entered should get out of it. Initially I could sense some tension between every Tuner/Owner but once things got started it became fun and an information gathering forum. Everyone got to learn from everyone else.

For me I found out that my car produced a lot of power. My best run the night before was 568HP and 535TQ at the wheels. From a DynoPerspective my car did well. But when it came to the Track and Quarter mile I found out what improvement were needed. It was obvious that I needed a Better Suspension and Sway Bars. And also 18 wheels and better tires. Without a proper tire-wheel/suspension set up, you can't take advantage of the engine for the track and Quarter mile.

So I am VERY HAPPY to say the least. My EVO 4GT kit was put last Friday in one day and survived the entire event with not one hickup. So all I need to do now is get a better suspension, sway bars, and track tires/wheels and I will be tuned up properly.

That is what I got out of this event. And second, I got to meet a great group of people. I respect those who showed up and took a chance with their cars.

Next year European car should do another follow up and call it "THE REMATCH"

P.S A special thanks to Alex for Organizing this event!!!

I am thinking of either the PSS9's or Cargraphic's suspension. (their suspension seems really good). Any thoughts?
