Fred so you think you would run much better with a 18" wheel/tire setup ?

Darren Yes. And this isn't from me but from Cort Wagner himself and everyone else. They all said that if I had 18 wheels and better tires I would have done way better on the track and my 1/4 mile time could have beenin the hight 10's if it were for 18's. Cort did an 11.3 but the tires weren't sticking well.

So a definite yes. All 3 last place cars at the track ran on 19's, so that says it all.

You BASTERD. As if you didn't know that! God what an understatement. That's exactly why I want to get the stage 4gt.

Please tell me what boost you ran and what gas.
What happened to to your torque on the dyno?
Do ou know your AFR's and intake temps at 1.5?

I plan to do the suspension first and then the stage 4gt. Better order in my opinion.

Thanks for making me wish for next winter even more (when I plan to go stage 4gt).

I ran 1.4 bar, don't know exact AFR's. Ran 100 gas. I got a TQ of 535 the day before the official shootout. I think the reason we got 507 was because we did 4-5 runs before Dan got the car to properly dyno. The car was not warmed up as it sat inside the garage all day. It was the first to dyno. The clutch kept slipping. It took lots of runs before we got it down. So after 4-5 hard runs, it might explain the numbers. We did learn from my car and Dan told all the drivers to drive and warm up the cars first.

Fred,

I hope you get some 18's on one of these days. I'd really like to see if your car is as fast as mine.

Then again, by that time, my car may be a little different.

Even with 18's that would be tough to beat. You're car is FAST. Maybe I could do 10.9-9.

Now your goal should be 9's ;-) Oh and a new front end ;-)

Tyson, Not poking anyone in the eye but Stage 4GT costs about $30k and seems to get close to your car, plus it's bolt on. What would I have to spend to duplicate the good things in your car (learn from your experience, not repeating your process)?

Fred,

As far as the suspension, call the guys at Hartman. If you have a chance to ask Cort which car handled the best he'll tell you that there car was by far the easiest most responsive car on the track. I guess he also said if it had tires on it, regardless of the power, that car would have been the fastest at the track event. They have the Single adjustable JRZ, their own springs and anti roll bars. Then the had full mono ball suspension, adjustable upper A-arm and soild mounts for the drag links and few other things too. Go down and I"m sure they will let you drive the car.

Cary: Awesome. Please elaborate on the performance of the Hartman work versus the usual pss9 adjustable sway approach. Also, what cost for the Hartman approach?

I guess I am going to have to beat this topic to death. On what planet does the standard stage 4GT run 1.4 bar?? The stage 4gt was out long before the threshold of raising the 1.2 bar limit. In other words, when the Stage4GT came out, it wasn't possible to go over 1.2 bar. It is not sold as a kit that goes over 1.2 bar. Fred's car is no more a stage 4gt than Tyson's car is a stock car. Come on guys, call a spade a spade. Fred, I am not in any way trying to put your car, your tuning, or you personally down. Just so you are aware. No disrespect aimed at you personally in any way. If we take a poll of how many people with stage 4gt can hit 1.4 bar, there won't be many hands raised. I guess my point is to everyone, Fred's car is not a true Stage4gt. Fred in fact calls it the Stage 4GTR. I also would venture to bet Fred spent much more than $30k for his upgrades. BTW Fred, which tires did you use, I don't think anyone mentioned that? Also, did anyone chnage your boost for each test? I am not referring to using the chipswitch, I am talking about actually retuning your car between overnight tests? Thanks in advance for your candor.

Lou
