Sunroof issue * 2

1. My sunroof was moving slow and will now n longer close without manual assistance. If I don't help it will stop and start opening again. I think the motor needs replacing. Correct?

2. The leather on the inside of the sunroof has now come loose and needs to be reinstalled. Is there a thread on how to remove the sunroof so this can be done?

1 - Clean and lube the track. In most cases, the motor is fine.

2 - Can't help there - haven't had to do that.

Agree. The runners get filthy after 15 years. One look will probably show the grime that is impeding smooth movement.

Thank you for the responses.
I tried lubricating the tracks but no improvement. It seems like the resistance setting for when the sunroof starts re-opening, like if you have a hand in the way, is to low. Is it adjustable?
I still look for answers how to remove the sunroof so that the headline can be re-attached to its inside. Any advice available?

To remove the sunroof you have to pull the headliner down. Do you have a picture of the part coming off?

Thank you for the response.

A. I was able to remove the panel the headliner used to be attached to by pushing the panel back slightly, then opening the sunroof to vent mode, and finally sliding the panel out backwards.
B. With the headliner panel removed the sunroof worked great.
C. I then re-attached the headliner to the panel, and reinstalled it.
D. Now I am back to the same situation: The sunroof will no longer close properly as it seems there is to much friction to overcome. Rather, it stops during closing and re-opens.
Is there any way to adjust how much resistance it takes to overload the motor causing the sunroof to stop and re-open during closing?

I tried a white lithium lubricant, but have not had any luck per description above.

Still looking for a way to adjust the resistance level causing the motor to reverse.

Turok is on a distinguished road
See my thread: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ctor-pics.html

It's possible you have the same problem. I solved mine by installing the mentioned part (the rear deflector of the sunroof drain system). Alas, you can't get a new one separately.
