This thread is going to be one of this board's all time most popular.

Just to go OT for a second here, obviously Mad Hatter hasn't heard about or read the current issue of European Car. Of course I could never imagine what over 500hp feels like

I don't stoop down to NOS, cause NOS is not tuning nor is it meant for real motorsport use. So you go fast for a quarter mile, ok... wow, I get ****s and giggles for 9 or 10 seconds, big whoopdedoo... But I digress...

Hey Sharky, Viper Room sucks now, and there isn't even a decent place to valet park my new ghettomobile.

Come down to LA, we'll go rolling around town ghetto pimp style.

2 years ago, I tried to be a playa in San Jose, but as soon as I got to the club, the girls there were asking me what the hell I was doing up there. They said, "We'd rather be partying in LA."

Oh well, good thing you're married, cause you ain't missin much in the Silicon Valley nightlife scene.

Ok, I called the guy with the z06 today and this is his side of the story told from his point of view:

I was in malibu and I saw a P car driving fast and weaving in and out of traffic ahead of me. He took a turn ahead of me extremely sharply so I thought he would be game for some fun. I got closer and saw it was a GT2.

I got next to him and asked him to race. His response was that he would beat me. I told him I know the car can beat me but I want to know if the driver can. I asked him if he wanted to go slam canyons but he said he doesn't do turns around here. I told him "cool" and we went our seperate ways.

End of story

So you were driving fast and yet you weren't down for a race because there was so much traffic? Why were you driving so fast then and weaving in and out?

Anyway, he said he is up for a race anytime you are, canyons, straightline, whatever.

You think? Just to let all of the liberals know that if Kerry is our next president, (and I doubt he will be) if you make 35,000 dollars and up you WILL see yourself paying to about 3x what you are now to the government in April, and good luck it you make 75 thousand and up, I can't even imagine. The sad thing is that the liberals will not even be mad if this does happen. But lets not even think about the socialized health care. He will bankrupt America. "Liberalism is a mental disease" (Michael Savage) and I agree.

they still think they can dictate how the rest of the country should think. you guys think that you can gang up on me and "criticize" me and that I shouldn't have the opportunity to rebut?

i'm glad you guys think my attitude sucks. but you know what, people who succeed in life have convictions, right or wrong, just ask our great President George W. Bush.
Convictions? I believe those are based upon religious, ethnic or cultural learning, but not necessarily intelligence. Those M!#%^& F*&^%$@#s that flew planes into the towers had convictions too, so I'd hardly say having convictions makes you a success by everyones standards. It can make you a success in the eyes of those narrow-minded thinkers who feel the same way. Since when did your opinions/convictions become representative of the rest of the country? You stated some opinions about Persians, Corvettes and non-Porsche GT-2 drivers, which I chose to disagree with. Some others here sided differently from you and some chose to go with you, which is what our country is all about. It was not my intention to try and censure your opinions, just disagree with them.

sticky,

Your friend is either a liar or his comprehension of English language is lacking or maybe our conversation occurred in Farsi without me knowing it.

He NEVER once mention slamming the canyons. And me, not
"doing the turns" in the Malibu canyons? Are you out of your ****ing mind??? That is my and Watt's home turf, I drive them everyday, live there-- you can ask anyone who has seen me drive if I can do turns or not.

I was not weaving in and out of traffic, unlike him, I made two lane changes to bypass 2 extremely slow cars, so what? I hit a top speed of a whopping 65 mph.

Also, only reason I took the right turn fast was because your friend insisted on tailgating me along PCH, so I stepped on it every so often to create a little distance, then he attempted to try to follow me around the corner, I stepped on it again and went in the center turn lane towards my destination when he pulled alongside me blocking the road completely and tried to hit me up for a race.

Tell him to go to Willow Springs if he wants to race Porsches so bad.

Do you really think I would engage in a street race with my 13 year old sister in the car? Oh yeah, did he mention that too?

Your friend does not want to race me in the local canyons. Trust me on this one.

But then again, with over $100K disparity between the two cars, I guess for him there isn't anything to lose. The price of his whole car is about the price of my motor.

Democrats are nothing more than ****'s in disguise. They are a freaking disease that eats away at what is good in this Country. They are the Communists in our midst.

Now for how I really feel!

Anyhow, Bush is doing a good job, he got rid of Saddam, captured Saddam and the economy is on the rebound. There is no way in heck he will not be re-elected.

How can you even be a Democrat when your last President was a draft dodging, wife cheater. How embarrassing!

Now how do I mount that gun turret on the Red Beast???

What in the hell are you talking about?

Let's follow the path of logic here. I said successful people have convictions. I never said just because you have convictions you become successful, although this often is true.

Then you try to bring some Al-Qaida **** into the whole mix. I believe in Logic 101, this is a fallacy known as the "Straw Man" argumant. Then you say that my viewpoints reflect that of the whole country when I was really making an example of our great current President. So what you are really asserting is a non-sequitur, or that which does not follow.

Read the last post by cjv, he gets it. You don't.

As for your attempt to liken my views to that of the terrorists. You are WAY off on that one and it's pathetic that you would resort to such tactics. But to each his own.

I guess you must be a liberal.

Tyson,
i tried my best to close out my comments on this post but after reading your response to Red Devil I am compelled to post. Your post initially began with a car related issue and now I believe you might be enjoying what this has regressed into. You have now revealled to many people on this board what type of individual you are. I am not going to even bring up the specifics because I am sure you will come back with something. But believe me you have lost the respect of many. I don't know how old you are, what you look like, or anything else about you. I do know you have given many hints in your posts to answer those questions.

Oh heck, I've been on the sidelines long enough and need to throw my viewpoint in.

I believe that liberalism is the primary source of evil in the world.

It does a number of horrendously damaging things. First, and foremost, it alleviates personal responsibility. Everything is not my fault, i.e. I don't need to save for my retirement, "the government" will take care of me. Of course, “the government†is legalized thievery, stealing from those with money and giving it to those that have not earned it. Welfare is another prime example of character destroying liberalism. You take from one productive segment of society (under threat of jail and ultimately death – try not paying your taxes), and give it (not you have to earn it) to another undeserving segment of society, indefinitely. This teaches the receiving that they are not really stealing, they are somehow owed it … somehow.

I won’t go on and on, and I do not like Bush much, way too much spending, but I would vote for him again over characterless slime like Clinton, or a Socialist/Communist like Kerry.

This ought to stir the pot nicely.

nice job, colorchange, now we have alienated the east vs. west and republicans vs. libs, good vs. evil. This whole things is getting to be fun, thought it was a slight drag at first.

I am curious to know what kind of person you think I am, DrBill.

The way I see it, I love the USA (thought not its modern cars), love the Republican party, love all people including my Persian friends out there, hate liberals and people trying to tax my hard earned money, admire people like Charlton Heston and Ronald Reagan and the Bushes, love the extreme side of automotive tuning, and love provoking some action when the board seems to get redundant or a bit boring.

I love Porsches, used to love BMWs, and I don't hate Corvette owners, even though I do hate the cars after the Stingray. You see Vette owners just need to see the righteous path, that's all. And it's up to us as evangelists and missionaries to spread the word of Dr. Porsche.

But sometimes things ain't fun until there is a little bit of rivalry or something to stand behind. Just like football or watching any type of sport really.

And if I have lost the respect of many as you say, so be it. I don't think they ever respected me anyway. So I guess I didn't lose a whole lot there.

Those who have met me know me and what I stand for. That's why they were the first to defend me. I am a good friend who is always there to help out my buddies and they do the same for me.

To all those who don't respect me, well you can't make everyone happy. Oh well.

too bad we can't settle our differences with a 10'x10' piece of cardboard and have a dance of. if there were a race track within a half hour's drive from everyone there would be nothing to argue about. even put a drag strip next to it. then, everyone would have to back up their bull****.

one of my friends has a 98 C2s that only has a pss9 and a chip. i asked him why he does not have a monster twin-turbo motor in it(he can afford just about any thing he wants). he said he didn't need it. i then asked what happens when some punks in a built ricer out run him. his answer? if they want to race me, they can find me at least a dozen times a year at race tracks all over the world(he races ALMS, grand-am and pca). it does take a lot of money to have that attitude, but talk IS cheap.

p.s. liberals suck, but we all need to show some compassion.

God, I love this thread!!!
For a gun Buddy, I highly recommend mounting the apatche helicopter's 30mm automatic cannon... You can see it in action on the OT forum under "This is War" thread, I believe. It is quite effective in cleaning up desired targets!!!
