Smile an intersting thread

you know, i'm really suprised about this thread. watched since its inception and am really suprised at the reaction. Tyson's right, this forum was starting to drag so I'm glad all this came up. Its amazing how offended some people get. I met Tyson in the LA trip and he was incredibly nice. I used to live in Glendale and understand some of the mentality that he'd suggested. It was a fair enough all around statement and I think the attacks against him are largely unfounded. We have 3 vettes in the family including a 67 stingray which is my favorite We also have a 2002 c5 which imho is a great car but so very very far away from that gt2 he's got. I don't know how the thread got into politics but I am very glad to hear that there are a good amount of common sense republicans that live in California. Makes me feel glad I bought a Porsche. The guys with beads and sandles just kill me. Props to Hamann7 for stating the facts and sticking to them.

Don't worry mehrabani1... We don't hate you...we just hate the Liberal philosophy of fantasy which cannot be reality from an economic standpoint. Do you get the oxymoron here??? Liberals with money driving Porsche's??? True Liberal's drive economy cars or better yet, hybrid gas/electric. Just offering some insight to point you in the right direction of thinking....

Yeah, I am one of those people who call themselves a Democrat, but really are a republican, its just that I liked Clinton a lot, and I don’t like Bush too much, I really don’t hold true to partisan lines, I don’t have any problem with voting republican if I think he is a better candidate. The democratic candidates for 2004 are lackluster at best, Kerry and Edwards are the only two that I am considering, but it is quite possible that I will vote for bush if I don’t like the democratic candidate after I watch the debates. My friends call me a "limousine liberal" though, so I don’t know what to think, lol

Well since this is no longer a car discussion I would just like to say I hate hippie's. They think they know how to save the world but all they do is sit around smoking pot and driving old VW vans that get bad gas mileage. They smell bad as well.

Hard Core Capitalism is what made the USA the great country it is today. Remember ... the Roman Empire DID fall. Don't take success for granted or you WILL be taken out yourself.

Thanks for the input Cartman.

That's almost word for word what he says in one episode.... true as it is.

Hey easy on the hippie stuff. I saw 220 Dead shows throughout the country, including California, smoked pot and lived the life of a Republican at the same time. Guess I was in the minority though!!!!

Agreed we can't blame kids for there parents lazyness or mistakes.

nice job, colorchange, now we have alienated the east vs. west and republicans vs. libs, good vs. evil. This whole things is getting to be fun, thought it was a slight drag at first.

I am curious to know what kind of person you think I am, DrBill.

The way I see it, I love the USA (thought not its modern cars), love the Republican party, love all people including my Persian friends out there, hate liberals and people trying to tax my hard earned money, admire people like Charlton Heston and Ronald Reagan and the Bushes, love the extreme side of automotive tuning, and love provoking some action when the board seems to get redundant or a bit boring.

I love Porsches, used to love BMWs, and I don't hate Corvette owners, even though I do hate the cars after the Stingray. You see Vette owners just need to see the righteous path, that's all. And it's up to us as evangelists and missionaries to spread the word of Dr. Porsche.

But sometimes things ain't fun until there is a little bit of rivalry or something to stand behind. Just like football or watching any type of sport really.

And if I have lost the respect of many as you say, so be it. I don't think they ever respected me anyway. So I guess I didn't lose a whole lot there.

Those who have met me know me and what I stand for. That's why they were the first to defend me. I am a good friend who is always there to help out my buddies and they do the same for me.

To all those who don't respect me, well you can't make everyone happy. Oh well.
