Interesting interaction today

Wow is your post laced with all kinds of elitist tones and condescending attitudes. You may be a great guy and I'm sure we would be friends if we lived near each other but it makes me cringe when someone with nice things (anything) takes these attitudes. Maybe these guys were egging you on and you were just mad, but "you don't acknowledge Corvettes." Come on.
You know yourself that when you were getting the GT3, it was much better than a Turbo, modified or otherwise. Then instead you got the modified Turbo and that was (and proved itself to be) the best, and now the GT2 is the best. I hope you are thankful for the things you have and have earned them yourself, but even if so I don't think you should look down upon others just because what you have may be "better" than what they have. I'm not looking for a war of words with you, I'm just offering a bit of advice that may serve you well some day.

esp. w/ all the **** he's talked before about how OUTSTANDING his promotive/wilber car was

and the old posts he use to make on rennlist about how his 7 could keep up w/ anything in the canyons cause he's a good driver. Roads that are usually fairly crowded and leave people blind comming around some turns.

I gotta run now. I'm going to Jerry Springer then down to the court house to pick up my Pa.

What politically correct means is exactly what you are saying, hiding the truth because some people might be offended, ie. leave out that they were Persian's. This is wrong and not freedom of speech. Tyson was not making an attack on all Persians, merely describing these particular obnoxious Persian's. If he said all Persians were obnoxious I would be all over his case, but he didn't. He merely stated facts and I implore him to continue to do so, and to fight people like you who are saying he should not have done so.

And also, I dont really like Vettes myself, and I agree with Tyson on his stance on Vettes. I think it should be ok to dislike them, but I do agree you get a good bang for the buck with a Z06.

Agreed drbill, and I have no problem being called a schmuck (even thought it's not politically correct of you).

However you stack it, this is amazing performance for the dollar.
The real irony I find in this thread comes from the initial author:
What a moron. I'm glad I didn't stoop down to his level. It must suck to own a Vette, having a constant inferiority complex
What puzzles me is how he knew they were Persian, I have many Persian friends and many of them look Greek or Italian or even Spanish or Portugese, its like having a couple of Asian kids challenge me to a race(happens all the time) and saying "well these Chinese kids etc....." I know this is not "right" because my Philipino friends get pretty pissed when they are called Korean or Japanese. Overall, however, I dont think any harm was meant by the comment, my $.02.

Dislike them all you want. In terms of the 1/4 mile, there are guys running 11.8's on the stock good years -- more than GT2 territory. Throw in some corners on a road course and I'd put even money on either car to run the faster lap, it would come down to the driver.

I'd say the guy who has to go home, write this story down and then call folks in the other camp names is the one with the issue ...

I have nothing against persians, i've got a lot of persian friends who are totally cool. The comment was made to illustrate some facts, and if some of you are "offended" by that, too bad... I don't subscribe to that PC bull****.
Z06 is good bang for the buck, but hell would freeze over before I ever bought one. Vettes are the cheesiest cars I have ever seen. In the end, you get what you pay for.
mehrabani1-- it's funny you mention that thing about persians being humble by culture. I find that to be true on the east coast, but here in LA. it seems to be a different type of subculture. I was getting PM's from a Persian member on this board who was telling me he knows what I'm talking about and these kind of guys make him feel ashamed to be persian.
People who have met me or know me have already spoken, so I don't see the need to defend myself or my comments.
Midwest guys, i.e. Buddy, LSM, ColorChange, thanks for the words of support.
And about those MTI vettes, you can make anything fast if you dump enough money into it. What does that prove? I really doubt SW's Z07 will beat Chad's Killer Angel around any racetrack except a banked oval-- maybe.
Ultimately, except for $$$, why would anyone buy a Corvette when you can buy a Porsche?

DrBill: I disagree completely with your point 1. Politically correct BS to me. He says clearly they were obnoxious Persians. If this is an accurate statement, make it. I doubt that Tyson has any kind of racial grudge against Persians; I believe he was just stating facts so please no BS politically correct censoring.
RedDevil: If you look at all of Tyson’s posts I think you will agree he is not an elitist or racist. He just simply states the facts like he did here. As he said, they were obnoxious, so that is why he probably worded things strongly, but so what. Speak the truth.
I'm done defending Tyson (and our Constitution) for now.
