I agree with you, air-cooled Porsches have more character and in many cases, look cooler.

I'm just glad to see that this forum has some life left in it, and I can still get people all riled up.

At least it ain't a mortuary like some other forums.

There are plenty of reasons why I would not own a Vette. Let's name a few for starters.

4. **** star, silicone tit inspired styling

Now explain the problem with that?

hehe

I have to say, the new C6 looks pretty good to me as far as styling. It's much improved over the C5.

I still don't like or want a Vette, but I really think they're on the right path with the C6.

There's no problem with that per se, but would you want to be driving the same car as a **** star?

In Houston, you don't have that problem, but in LA, **** stars are everywhere.

Also, LA people have probably seen a pink C5 owned by the infamous joke of the town, Angelyne. Enough said.

They are doing better with the C6, I will admit that.

Ah... driving the same car as a **** star vs. having styling that reflects the look of the silicon... well nevermind. I hear ya.

In Houston, the average Vette driver (I'm going on stereo-type here... no flames from Vette fans please) is either
1) Old and rekindling his youth again. Most likely recently divorced, dating young chicks, and probably sportin' a new earing.
or
2) a drag strip maniac.

We don't see many Vettes at the track (the real track that turns left and right), but there are just a couple. There's a notorious Z06 that won't allow "slower" NA 996's passing him because there's "no way" a standard C2 is faster than his Z06! It just perpetuates the stereo-type.

Man, this thread has got some legs!!! Must be the politically correct season...

Those who were offended by Tyson's remarks must surely have been outraged at Janice Jackson's teet-ski's at the superbowl!!!
Lighten up!

Whatever brutha!!

I am not a "Vette guy". Never claimed to be. I do have a very fast one, one that I am sure would give your car a very good test. Hell, I'll probably be selling it soon to make room for another project. I just think your attitude sucks. There are many cars out there that are daily driven and MUCH faster than yours. Remember there is always someone faster and less than 600 to the ground will not cut the mustard. I guess the best way to ensure your dominace is to pick and choose your battles and stay away from the real big dogs!!

Hamann7,
I also did Not think you were being a racist when you 'described' the people in the vette, I read that like you were just describing them.
If they would've been Black, and you would've said they were Black, same thing, now if you would've used the N-word, that
would've been wrong.

One last thing, that's very wrong, and quite frankly is giving me
a bit of a stomach ache....

could you PLEASE remove the *Honda* from your sig line,
PLEASE!

I have seen No Mercy's White Z07's 9 second run. I also have seen SW's 9 second runs with his vette. You would destroy the Porsches in a straight line!

Hmmmm... yes there are some cars faster than the GT2 I suppose. But I dare you to find a more complete package in stock form for under $440,000 (the MSRP of a Carrera GT).

And my 996 Turbo does put over 600 to the ground, you see, 551AWHP on a load bearing dyno equates to over 600 at the rear wheels if you disconnect the front driveshaft. I already know what it feels like to have a fast straight line car... and frankly, that's not the point for me.

Besides, automotive forums would be boring without rivalry or trash talking, so lighten up. You don't gamble much during the NFL season, do you?

Well, I have seen many cars running 9s or lower-- Supra's, RX-7's, Eddie Bello's Porsches, Skyline GT-R's, Nova's, VW Bugs, etc.

And the point is....

Under that presumption, we should all be buying CRX's and stripping them.

Good, then I hope we have an understanding now.

I still don't have the ***** to gamble 50 different ways though.

Just straight win or under/over for me.

If I were to bet it would be mostly over under with about 90% of the time on the over, it's just more fun that way.

If were to have bet on the Pro Bowl and had I taken the OVER I would have made enough to pay for my new HREs.
