His comments here where nowhere near as bad as the thread that got deleted where some other members were throwing racist names cause some Arab rally driver had an expensive car collection...Hatorade should not be consumed prior to logging on to public forums...

Oh dear Red Devil (Jim),
Like most east coast folk you are always so egalitarian and considerate.
We will just have to agree to disagree. I don't like Vettes, therefore I do not acknowledge them. In fact, I have more respect even for Mustang or Viper owners.
The GT3 is the best when it comes to handling. The modded Turbo was awesome in a straight line, but of course it doesn't handle like the GT3. The GT2 just makes you smile every time you kick out the tail in a high speed drift. It's better than the Turbo, handles about as well as the GT3.
What's so hard to understand about that?

At least the Vette is not part of the 1.9 million vehicle recall GM has done (2 separate recalls) over the last WEEK!!!!
You'd think somebody would figure out that a little quality control at the manufacturing side would save gazillions of dollars in recall money, but that's GM for ya.

Just my .02 worth.

Unless you've driven a GT2, you wouldn't understand. I sure didn't until my first test drive. It's not only about times, it's the way the car dances with you around the corner-- it really is amazing.

I had two vettes, and it sure didn't suck to own them. I am a vette lover too, and plan on the C6. Also, keep in mind there are plenty of fast vettes out there that'll make our TT's look like their standing still, IE SW's and NO Mercy's stroked MTI's.
I do however hate the civics, and souped up accords getting all riled up, tailgaiting, and challenging races during high traffic. It can be very annoying.

You can run high 9's too... you just need to put more money into the tip. As if you didn't already spend enough.
Actually, had you not bought those expensive brakes, you could have put more towards the engine and NOS. You'd still stop better than the Vette even with the stockers.

And about those MTI vettes, you can make anything fast if you dump enough money into it. What does that prove? I really doubt SW's Z07 will beat Chad's Killer Angel around any racetrack except a banked oval-- maybe.
Ultimately, except for $$$, why would anyone buy a Corvette when you can buy a Porsche?

As far as why anyone would own a Vette ... well some of us like that V8 rumble and are not so full of crap that we can not identify a great car. I can't understand why you would not want one.
I think your attitude sucks but you are entitled to it, just be careful and keep staying away from those Vettes because some of them will embarrass you.
BTW, for all those who worship the Z06, it took them HOW MANY years to break 8 minutes on the Nurburgring?
In case you haven't heard, in '04 GM revalved the shocks for the Z06 and now proudly calls it the "Nurburgring" tested suspension. Made a 7:56 with the SCCA T1 national champ behind the wheel. They finally matched the 996 Turbo (K16) and the 996 GT3 even with the superior Power to Weight ratio.
Not bad for $55 grand, too bad it's still cheezy.

I don't think anyone here is worshipping the vette, they/we just think you aren't giving it the credit it deserves. Great car for the buck. It's capable of great things. Just look at the domination it's had in SCCA racing when the C5 came along it was all vipers and porsches. I thinkt his year there were only 2 cars that weren't vettes when it came down to the finals.

See I won't bash or look down upon others because of the car they drive. I know better than that.

The 996 Turbo also achieved the same time back in 2000, the Turbo was introduced in late 2000 as a MY01.
The 996 GT2 set the production car record at the time of its introduction back in '01 with a time of 7:46, set by two different drivers.

Well last years Lap of America race was won by an MTI Z07. They beat everyone , Porsche, Viper, Ferrari Lambo etc. Take that as you wish. There were many high dollar tuner cars there that got embarassed. MTI has also been invited to Car and Driver Tuner Shoot out this year so we will be able to get some more head to head numbers.

Considering Adee used two bottles of Nitrous to supplement his 485WHP, should I be that surprised that it beat cars like a 385hp Ruf RGT, which incidentally came in 4th?
There are plenty of reasons why I would not own a Vette. Let's name a few for starters.
1. Cheap, plasticky interior
2. substandard build quality
3. "Mr. Goodwrench" service
4. **** star, silicone tit inspired styling
5. overall lack of refinement
If I wanted to win a drag race, wouldn't I have just kept my last Turbo and built it out even more like Chad's? I would really like to see your or SW's MTI car beat Chad's Killer Angel on any road course.
As for your last point, we all know that my GT2 is going to remain perfectly stock, so I guess you're right...
they even have their own hero in Kid Rock!
Tyson has always been a little blunt on this forum, not a totally bad thing...gives some added color to the forums. Whoops!, I said color...can I say that? I dont like Vettes either, I know there are some out there that are VERY sick, But I would not own one. I love P-cars. We are all entitled to our opinions. Hell I think my "old" air cooled Porsche's are alot nicer than a 996 TT, but thats me and my flavor.
Most everyone here has very nice cars, but not every nice car suits everyone's taste.
