I finally lost a race in the GT2
All I did was post the results of a run, as many of us do here on 6speed. Do you now (paksiho, SCvet), think that I'm lying about it? I have outrun other cars that have trapped higher than my GT2 at the drags, what do you attribute that to? Them spinning their wheels at 120mph? I can assure you that wasn't the case with the other Vettes and mustangs that I have rolled on with.
And as far as nutswinging
why is it that members of a certain other "unnamed" forum (pakisho)always resort to name calling and personal attacks when someone disagrees with them?

I believe Renntech V12. For those of you who have not owned 800+rwhp car you just don't know. Racing for 4-5 seconds is a joke and not a real race for a high hp car. If the race was to a higher speed then the Viper would have taken off.

Yeah, now everyone shut up. Luis has spoken his piece and he is a gentelman and a scholar and a born leader of the free world.
And he needs some pos rep points as 30 clearly is not enuff.
Oh and I could say that when Joe bought my GT2 he took it to Detroit and raced a C6 Z06 and whooped his ****, but I wont say nothing. But it did happen.
#1 The viper is the ultimate street car for modding with HUGE displacement these cars can push 1700 rwhp with a bore and stroked motor and Twins. Your not gonna beat that in a straight line very often, or even come close.
#2 For cars who take 10-20 seconds to go from 30-130 it may be legit, but that short of a race is not a good indicator of how much one car may or may not be faster than the other. HOWEVER, there arent safe roads in the state to safely run to 200 MPH side by side, even that will cover lots of ground real fast and you cannot swerve!!!!!!!! Must be completely straight.
#3 I have run my TT vette vs my modded turbo from about 40-120 and it was similar with my vette pulling about 3-4 lengths which surprised me but in 5-7 secs you can only go so much faster than a fast car before traction becomes an issue.
Both points are well taken but we only have so many options to test when it comes to high speed unless we take it to an airstrip.

...
...
I believe Heffner's performance has one or two but I don't know if I would call them street cars.I know he claims to get that hp out of them on race fuel with a stroked motor.Check their site Scott.

Ignition system, bone stock minivan coils
... I wish I was kidding
Just run an AEM standalone PCM for fuel/ignition/boost control and you're good to go.
you guys can try to hate on the viper but it's a bad **** if you have the brass to handle it, especially when they easily make 4 digit rwhp. And believe me they don't sound like UPS trucks when they are setup like that.
Gearing bad? ha! Being able to trap near 180mph in 4th is NICE... lets race to 230.. oh wait, is there a 996 that has enough gear to go that fast?
Has anyone ran an 8 in a TT.... how about a 7?... traping 183mph <crickets>

I'd love to see a wild 996 like VRAlex or Markski run against a hard core viper on the highway. Say 50-220? Garth is in Vegas near Alex... that could be some fun entertainment during our little vegas trip.
Yeah the interior blows but I could care less, other than that the car is as hard core as it gets... makes a GT2 feel like C4 tip on the "oh chit" factor.

edit: yes I was correct garyjavo.com he runs an 8 with DR's on. and yeah it's a street car. It's not the HP that makes it a street car or not, generally guys with auto glide tranny's, drag suspension, chutes, etc etc etc are the ones not considered as street cars.
