I have played a bit w/ the 60-130 run. It seems (butt dyno speculation) that my car will get the best time by starting in 4th gear and using the e-brake to build boost as opposed to just starting in 3rd where boost is already maximized.

However I agree w/ those who think that this technique is unnatural IE not something we would do in normal driving conditions. Personally, I am not as excited about actually recording my time at the Supra Nats since it seems to be an artificial test.

My recommendation is that we have a class of 60-130 times that forbid the use of the e-brake to build boost.

Actually, unless it falls through...we'll have a professional video and camera crew there to document the entire event.

I love when Todd says: : "the last time we ran it we ran out of Turbo"
Can you imagine the efficiency of the motor (fuel/head flow/intake system, custom Proto headers/muffs,
etc) to make those large turbos run out steam BEFORE the motor does??? .

I know that people are skeptical, but this is the guy who runs 9's in
his 996TT with STOCK INTERNALS !!!!!!!! think about that for a moment!

should be a fun year EH?? (minus 12 below fairhenheit here now, I am
afraid to even sit in my car, let alone start it .

Trying to thaw out my brain currently

Hmmm... I must be wasting my time and money with all my case work, rod upgrade, GT3RS crank ,oiling upgrades, etc.... To think I can just run 9's on stock internals ...Think about what you are saying...I dont think anyone will recommend/condone those speeds on stock internals, but then again engines usually run their best right before they explode ..Kevin

I know there isnt an official timeslip but, I believe the 9's were run with a trap speed of somewhere around 136? Doesnt that mean power wise, its OK with stock internals? I believe running C23 along with 1.7+bars of boost was what he did? I know the boost is crazy but with that kind of fuel, wouldnt it still be somewhat safe?

You could run 9 seconds on a stock internals but for how long? Sooner or later you'll have to pay the Piper.

Running race fuel will only subdue what will eventually happen , The weekness are the rods, which will eventually either sanp or bend! The stock rods cant handle the momentum or compresion (stress) applied at these HP levels! remember, Porsche made an over engineered 420-450 Hp to the fly wheel car , not a 6-700 whp car ....tom

I didnt recommend or condone running enough air thru your stock motor to
run 9's, I am just saying it has already been done.
Protomotive tuned cars (what this thread started as) have set the standard
for Power starting with the first shootout in 2003 when Todd's car beat everyone's by a margin greater than all the competitors combined. The new
stock internal standard by Protomotive, but this time running GT30R's will show what can be done (EASY mid 10's using safe parameters, and if you
want to get squirrelly with set-up and boost you can be in the 9's, it is already been done!). Now, as for one off cars: Markski's car will show new
levels of performance never documented before!!! And as for VR Alex's car:
Much faster than any other 996TT built in America to date.
These are my opinions based upon facts which have been gathered and verified by sources who have nothing to gain by lying.
Like I said, ain't 2007 Grand??

I have no doubt about proto cars but I still want to see documented trap speeds. EVO currently has 140mph and im sure in the near near future, a higher trap will be recorded.
One thing im really interested in is a comparison btw the 3 custom programs.
Dive vs. marksi vs. VR. What turbos, HP at each boost level, the differences between each. Im not so concerned about the 1/4 times because Im thinking they will be similar with a few mph difference and I believe all 3 have quite a weight difference. It would be so kind Todd K., when dives car is done, if we can get a breakdown of the differences. TIA.
