As far as the air cooled brothers if the head lift off no big deal, they come back down no issues! (head gasket, coolant) On my 930 (3.6) I had this mod, on that engine worth every penny. IMHO. Maybe one of the tuners could shed some light.

I believe I remember pics showing that you o-ringed your liners. Did you o-ring your heads? I believe the cost of doing both is about 2k. The only person I know that o-ringed the heads/liners was VRAlexander. I know he ran 1.7 bar, maybe more and he didn't have any head failures that I know of. Then again we haven't talked since he left.

Protomotive through VRAlexander's car was one of a couple that truely pushed the envelope and raised the bar. We were so impressed with the work that we stopped our motor assembly to have Todd @ Protomotive machine our heads and liners for the o-rings.

The next question ......... from what material is your rings made ? There are a few materials that will hold the pressure. Certain ones will transfer heat while others will help disipate heat. This can have an effect on how far your push the timing. Same hold true on liner material.
