Totally cool stuff. Congrats man!

Didn't read all pages so forgive if it's a repeated question. Any idea why the TT springs are stiffer? I would think that the GT3 springs would have to be stiffer to avoid valve float at the extended RPM. If the TT has has higher lift, that might explain it since the springs would have to work hard over a longer range?

Good question, Ari. Unfortunately I don't know the answer. My springs are custom so it makes sense that they're stiffer...but I'm not sure about the stock springs.

I'll point Todd to this question.

I'll take a stab at this, I can't speak for a tt motor, but i've built a few..lol.. blown alcohol motors. You must always figure in boost pressure as well as rpm, ie, if you are running 55 psi boost it is trying to push the valve open, as well as your rpm. We figured the force aganist the valve due to boost pressure and added this # to the spring pressure. In my alcohol motors this was 425-450 at the seat and about 1200lbs open. Thus the need for 9/16 inch taperwall pushrods and 1" double roller lifters....

Valve springs

Derboost is right on with the boost thing. Figure, if you have a 2" inlet valve, the surface area is pi r ^2, or 3.14159in^2, and at 1.5 bar of boost, you'll have 68lbs of pressure trying to force the valve open... Well, if you only have 80lbs or so of seat pressure, the valve is just barely sealed, where on a gt3, you'd have the full force of the spring applying to seating the valve.
However, the gt3's also have another advantage that allows for lighter springs. The lifters are maybe 1/4 of the weight of the 996tt's as they not only don't have the variable lift stuff going on, but also are smaller in diameter. The rsr's go even further and remove the hydraulics and have a mere shell as the lifter, so with the same spring, they have proportionately higher rpm capability just due to the lower mass of the system involved.

Looks liek the gt3076 is a good turbo.... no issues there...
Bobby has K24/20s in his white 996tt and hes produced 720 rwhp as well.

He want's the best of both worlds.. a reliable car in Russia without any mechanical local support putting down 800rwhp or more that will not break down and launch liek a bandit while not braking axles or tranny and beat some of the most powerful P cars in the world... ( 9ff, ruf, enzo, ect).
good luck..

Thanks...you forgot to mention that it need to run on a pump GAS...

So there is no such P-car made yet for my needs...

What set up does the 996TT need to have car has to beat Ford GT TT ???

A ford GT TT engine in a Porsche

Are you nuts GT RUS?

Get a Viper GTS coupe, throw a couple of 74's on it and call it a day.
Making a Porsche that powerful is not cheap and will not run on pump

Exactly... I just found out that now he wants to do all this on pump gas... forget about it.... 3.6L motor with big turbos at 1 bar on pump gas does not make 700 rwhp....

Makes sense guys. In laymans terms, the valves are being actuated against more cylinder pressure and must be supported by stronger springs... correct?

SLR would be easier since it is already pressureized.
