Why can't you lease a used car?

www.leasecompare.com

Just a matter of cap cost, residual, money factor, term, down payment, etc

Did I read wrong or did you really say something about a 12 year finance? Wow that would be crazy. Anyways never driven a Z06 yet but for a DD wouldn't the porsche make more sense for practicality with the backseat and all.

I have 2006 z06 and a 996tt. They are completely different cars. The best way to describe the choice is nascar v. alms. Whichever you prefer is the one you will like best. The 996tt is more fun on the back roads, but much more expensive to maintain and to mod. the corvette is more fun in the straights and the highway - all that torque and it sounds fantastic (I don't care what exhaust you buy for the 996tt, it will never sound as good as an American V8 under full throttle). Drive them both where you will be driving the car and then decide which one you like better for that purpose.

Love them both, 07 Z06 & 02 996 turbo X50 600hp stage4. The v8 in the vette is intoxicating, and the boost in the turbo just keeps giving! Both are wonderful rides.

I would say if you have to do a 12 year finance program for the turbo you can't afford it. Buy what you can afford.

if just 1 get the turbo no contest.

If you are lucky like some of the others here, get both and beat up the Chevy on the track coz it's cheap to fix and maintain

The turbo will stabilize in depreciation whereas with the vette you will be taking the biggest hit because it is new. If you are going to take out a loan, you can buy a nice TT with X-50 package and only add exhaust and ECU and run neck and neck with the Z06, if you are going to stay stock and like to track your car, the Z06 is the better choice for performance but the TT is better for durability.

I think if you drive them on the same day, buy the one that makes you feel happier on the inside.

Woodside credit does not finance Porsches.

First it is much more practical - 4 seats, more luggage room(back seats too), 4 wheel drive(U don't need to be proffessional to drive it)
Porsche is less expensive to mod...
U can drive in winter easily
U don't need buy every month new tires

Z06 has a lot better torque curve....it's really impressiv how strong it pulls after gear shift...and headsup display and newer car...it's all better than 996TT....but I think Porsche is still better choise
The Z06 has more cargo room, and unless you have little kids or roll with midgets the rear seats in the turbo are decorative. I personally hate trying to "align" something through the front doors to get it into the back seats. The Z06 is easy, pop the hatch and you have enough room for a washer, dryer and a fridge.

Interesting... Nascar vs. Alms. The Z06 wins ALMS, however neither Porsche nor Vettes run in Nascar. From my experience the Z06 handles possibly better (although differently) than the a 996 TT with X73 suspension and extra wide meat. Not putting my Porsche down, however, I love running it through corners better than anything, but I don't think the Z06 is slow through them, I think it might actually be faster and due to better weight balance easier to run through corners (I need more seat time and less rain to be certain).

I called the Porsche dealer this morning, and they already sold the 03 TT I was looking at. I am going to keep my eyes open for a nice 996TT. In the meantime, I am going to test drive a Z06 and see what that is like.

Thanks everyone!

Btw- Why doesn't woodside credit handle porsches?

They only handle exotics (Ferrari, Lambo, Bentley, Rolls, etc)
