Zo6 or 03 TT...need help!
Zo6 or 03 TT...need help!
I am so undecided!
Here is the deal. I currently drive an 04 M3 as my daily driver. I prefer to lease my daily cars since they are usually not modded (much), and I turn them back in after 3 years or so. My M3 lease is up now, and I need to make a decision on a new daily car. I want to lease so I have low monthly payments and don't have to tie up a ton of money each month in a daily car.
My choices are down to a new Zo6 or an 03 996tt. I went to the Chevy dealer yesterday and was quoted an outstanding price on a new 07 Zo6. Keep in mind I would lease this car. At the same time, I have a line on an 03 996tt with 20k miles for around the same price (a little bit more actually). The only problem with the Porsche is that it is a used car, and I cannot lease it. The financing comes out to $1,300+ with 10 or so down. I'd rather be around $900. I just came across Woodside Credit which is nice cause it lowers the payments a lot to where I want them and I can buy it at any time if I love it and want to mod it, etc. I do feel funny however, having a 12 year finance plan on a 69k car. Also, if it already has 20k miles and is 5 years old, what will it be worth 8 years old with 50k miles? Will that be a wise choice?
I am confused on what I should do! Can anyone help?!
Thanks.
Best,
Kyle

I don't bout leasing USA, but have driven both...actually some time ago I was same problem 996TT or Z06.... I choose Porsche...and are very happy with it...
First it is much more practical - 4 seats, more luggage room(back seats too), 4 wheel drive(U don't need to be proffessional to drive it)
Porsche is less expensive to mod...
U can drive in winter easily
U don't need buy every month new tires
Z06 has a lot better torque curve....it's really impressiv how strong it pulls after gear shift...and headsup display and newer car...it's all better than 996TT....but I think Porsche is still better choise

Loaded question?
I wonder if a young gal went to a surgeon seeking objective medical opinions on whether she should have breast augmentation, if she would receive such? When you're a hammer, everything kinda looks like a nail, no?
Listen, I'm pretty sure you're aware of your responses you're going to get when you come online to a 996 TT forum and ask whether or not you should buy a Porsche or a Chevy?
Not to mention, I see you're a Jersey resident. Good luck thinking you're going to use a Corvette as an everyday commuter. I owned a '92 conv. (Plum rose and white interior, very cheesy and loved it) that I got stuck in 1/2 an inch of snow simply rolling my car out of the garage for all of a minute trying to prevent flat spots on my car.
Also, no matter what vocation you are in, I personally believe anyone behind the wheel of a Porsche pesonified class, while anyone behind the wheel of a Corvette makes me think wannabe.
I know I'm a hypocrite as I actually started a thread considering trading in my '71 Cuda for a Z06. However, I would NEVER even remotely consider trading in my TTs for a Vette. Never!!!

In autotrader today search under "any distance"
For sale '03 996 TTs = 138
For sale '06-08 ZO6s =28
You should be able to get a smokin deal on a TT. Lots out there. Moding prices are not comparable...unless you are just looking at a flash on the TT ECU...otherwise ZO6 is cheaper to mod by far.
Totally different cars. Both fun to drive. If you are worried that your car defines "who you are"...and that's an issue w/you...probably p-car better. If you don't care...then either will work fine.
Quality wise, build on P-car going to be a bit better. Although the 996 series has a lot of plastic in it.
If you are wondering about resale of a 996TT in a few years...basement. Possibly same for ZO6..no one knows yet on those. But Porsche produced boat loads of TTs so there will be a lot and the 997s will, by then, be a good used option.
Lots of theads on whether ZO6 or P-car is "better". That comes down to you, no one else. Drive them both then decide what you like and what you want to be seen in (again, if that's important).
Either way, you'll end up w/a great and fun car.

Daily driver is a no brainer.
As far as all the rest, it depends on what YOU like.
Coincidentally, I will be driving a new Z06 later today, I expect to
be impressed.
You know what all of us decided on this board, it is not as if we couldnt
afford a Z06. A Z06 is a fantastic "value", it is a Chevy however.

That is also what I am thinking. Besides the speed on the Zo6, would I be happy with this car as my daily cruising around town, into the city, from appointment to appointment? These thoughts make me no doubt choose the porsche.
WOODSTER- Post your impressions of the Zo6 compared to your TT after your spin!

I've owned both and enjoy my TT much more than the Z06. I like the looks, the feel of the Pcar over the Z06. I drove both as daily drivers, but didn't drive either of them in the snow. Even if you can get both for the same price, the porsche is in a different "class" in my opinion. Especially if you look at the original sticker price. My only concern buying an '03 turbo would be the warranty. I always get a little nervous when my car's warranty ends (murphy's law) and buy something new. Good luck
