i've had both a gt2 ( several ) , 996 TT / 04 gt3 and i have a 2007 z06 now... some of the comments you make are simply asinine. I havent the time to get into each and every detail now but I was so annoyed with your obvious lack of knowledge and single minded thought process that I felt the need to let you.

to downplay the success of the Z06 and to negate the preformance of the car without owning or even riding in one simply shows ones lack of understanding and appreciation for automobiles in general.... a true car guy regardless of brand loyalty has the ***** to appreciate any car, this one in particular for what is has to offer. but again this is all IMHO>

i dont deny that the z06 is a fast car that handles well...but other than that...TO ME it does nothing else...the styling is terrible and the quality is sub par...those are my oppinions. if you like it thats great...i actually talk to scott on here every once in a while...i never told him he made the wrong choice. i never said anything like that to him...i think its great you can go buy a 500+ hp car for 70k...but i would never buy one...and if you actually knew me in person, and not just behind our computer screens, you would see that i actually do appreciate more than just porsches and bimmers and lambos. i do have my own taste as we all do...yes i tend to be a little more close minded, but thats just because im particular in what i like.

You are pretty regular at CF, what does Jim Bacus, Mike (Shorthrow), David Yu and Allegreto say about the Z at 150? Pretty damn pure is what they say. Look, the 996TT is not the track car for Porsche anyhow.
armerlans didnt you take the opposite siide of this argument when you got your cayman

Had the same situation, selling 02 m3. test drove new z06 and a 2003 996tt.

hard to describe the difference in feeling, but when i drove the corvette i felt like i was in a cheap plastic factory, very fast, stopped great, handled great, but i hated it.

when i drove the 996tt, it was instant " i gotta have this car" i dont care what any magazine says about american cars catching up, the germans just build a better more refined car.

no comparison, u just need to drive them both, drive the vette first.

jmho.

You guys realize this thread was started 2.5 months ago. Unless the guy is some wishy-washy MF, he's probably long since made his decision by now.

I love this BS about build quality on the Zooohhh 6... At the NCM this year they had a 2006 have its ROOF FLY OFF during a track day... NICE... REAL nice... As usual, you vette boys are living in a river called DENIAL...

Come on down to Fredericksburg Va. and I'll hand you your *** and I'll even video tape it.

As to the comments about stability... I've tracked my car at 7 days worth of events and it has been ROCK SOLID stable... And over on CF everyone is *****in' about the brakes and suspension on the new Z06 NOT being track day worthy for anyone who knows their way around a road course...

Mike

I'll can post this over at the other site. There are a few boys with Z06 that have a "bit of a tune" that track their Z06 in the DC area. Be ready to put up or shut up. Shall I post the challenge?

Actually, why don't you come up to Maryland Int'l Raceway and look up a guy named Ranger who has a stock C6Z06 and give it a try against him.

I don't follow what you are talking about but I posted this earlier in this thread in case you didn't see it. Yep, I change cars quite often and thats why I can never be a Fanboy of any brand. You see, I am a car enthusiast. I could give a **** what badge is on the hood. I appreciate performance.

I (being the key word here) have driven both and driven both pretty damn hard and the Z06 is more planted with ZERO vibration or wallowing at 150mph. Neither felt as good at 150 as the CaymanS however.....the 996TT and Z06 just got there faster...a good bit faster.

I have four local guys right by me that have '06 and '07 Z06s with anywhere from 6K-23K miles on them and NOT ONE has had ONE issue with their car.
