To E-Gas or Not To E-Gas.. That is the Question
Hi all,
I've seen some interesting articles of people doing modifications and there seems to be some technical merit to knowing if your car is e-gas or not.
I have a 2001 996 C2 that was purchased in the US and I'd like to know first off, which is it, and how can I tell? Along with, what is the difference?
Cheers

I'm pretty sure it is e-gas. I believe the '99C2s were the last 996s that had a cable throttle. The '99 C4s were e-gas models, at least the Canadian models were (I have one).
You can tell by looking at the throttle body. If there is no throttle cable hooked up, then it is e-gas.

cable has better response, excellent for track.
egas is used for PSM, and power management (engine cutoff, more consistent pedal feel under load etc..) as well as slower throttle response time.
