Raced a CTS-V today

My Car = '02 Targa, 6spd, maxspeed high flow cats and mufflers

So, I pulled up to a red light just a little while ago, and silver CTS-V pulls up next to me, revs it a little, edges up to the line, yatta yatta. We take off from the red light. Long story short, I was 1-2 car lengths ahead by the time I was going 95 or so. But damn, for a large sedan, that thing was QUICk. Does anyone know if these things are auto or manual? I thought I heard his wheels spin in 2nd gear. Not a horrendous kill or anything, but definitely fun, and eyeopening. Anyone else know more about these CTS-Vs?

Surprising. The cts-v should dust a 911. Maybe it was a regular cts with a "v" badge added. Lol. Or an older version- which should be a dead heat. Or perhaps he missed a shift. And they will spin the wheels in 3 gears. It's a lot of car. And spacious - WITH a trunk.

hmm.... maybe it was an older one, just did a little research and it would make sense if it was a first gen V. The new ones have 550+ HP, 550+ ft.lb torque

High 12 second cars with the right driver, bone stock they trap 108-110 mph. It sounds like you launched him and had the driver mod, your advantage is off the line due to the 911's legendary traction!

And the well known early CTS-V problem of severe wheel hop of the line...
