quick question

quick question

i know the answer is probably in my manual but i am at work right now and dont have access to that until later on this evening, so please dont flame me ok, so my battery died and i need to jump the car. will the trunk release work for me to get to the battery or do i need to locate a non electric latch? if the latter, could someone tell me where and how? thanks in advance

There is a cable behind the front right (passenger side) headlight assembly. You can see it if you carefully lift the bottom of the assembly with a plastic or wooden flat tool or a cloth covered screw driver. Use a flashlight to see the cable, grap it with a coat hanger and pull it out. Then pull the cable and the hood will open.

Personally, it is easier to just jump start the car by pushing it and popping the clutch.

Would you do that to your car? I sure as heck wouldn't...perhaps if I owned a honda or an old beater...

Actually, I do it several times a week as I roll down my driveway. Absolutely does nothing harmful to the car. Car starts right up in 4th gear.

I sure would like to know why you wouldn't do it to your car. All you're doing is turning the flywheel with the tranny rather than with the starter. Takes less rpm to start the car too.

thanks alot for the help. turns out i had to hook up cables to a fuse and the door latch to get me enough juice to open the front trunk lid. once i got to the battery it was too late, its dead.
