evo SC vs. tpc SC
Damn I went a little long on that rant post above.... Sorry about that. Got a little hot an started typing.
So Nik, who do you work for? All those rude comments, personal attacks, and technical claims.... The least you could do is tell us your credentials. You really represented for all the Britts with that one
We still haven't heard back from 1999 on the identities of his race victims or how he did his data aquistion on the intake temps. Shocker. By the way, the European Car article said the TPC kit intake temps stayed consistent with ambient temps. You must have a better data aquisition method than they do

Interesting article would have liked to known the reason for the engine problem on the editors car, as far as the ambient and temps going into the throttle body remaining consistant I think that's a bit of a stretch at least confusing. Where are testing the EVO system out?

I think you are the only one who just doesn't get the reason you don't release other's people's personal information on a board like this or any other way without their permission. Why don't you give me your personal info, name address phone number, etc, so I can deceminate it as I see fit?
You want to read the intake temp? Where would your read it from. Like the magazine did, from the MAF sensor? Or would you want to know the temperature that is actually entering the intake? If you were as smart as you claim to be,, you would be able to figure out that it is IMPOSSIBLE to have intake temps that are ambient when the intercooler is at ambient or higher. That would mean you had a 100% efficient aftercooler system. Cool.
You don't, by chance, still live with your parents???

1999, if you're going to make claims about what a bad *** car you've got, back it up. Problem is I don't think you can. How can you make racing claims, and not provide any info. I asked you to ask them for permision to post more details, you won't do that either. What are we supposed to believe? Do you have a girlfriend in Canada too?
Come on dude, the whole "i'm faster than these cars" claims with nothing else to support it is kind of weak. Did I ask for their personal info? No. I'd be happy to give you all of mine besides my social if you like. All I asked for was their screen names. You can't do a whole lot with someone's screen name, now can you?
The only thing I've challenged you on is supporting your facts. That's it. Make a claim, back it up or dont' say anything.
If I'm wearing out my welcome with you, I guess that's too bad. Get over it. I'll at least tell you where I get my info from, whether it's right or wrong. Get me banned if you don't me or my posts.
More personal attacks... is that what you people do when they run out of things to say? Even if I did live with my parents, what would that matter? I like my parents
You claimed that TPC ran hotter with higer intake temps in a previous post. I don't have the ability or the equipment to measure that. Are you a porshe tech? You made the claims, I asked you where you got the info from. Once again, you sound like you're making **** up. You may be right, but you refuse to give any details. All I did was quote info from a respected magazine that had thier car blown up by a TPC kit. I don't claim to be a tuner. Just reciting what I read.
I still don't get the crack about my parents.
I don't know how many times I'm going to have to say this, but I like the EVO setup. I may even buy it if I like the way it drives. I just don't think the TPC setup is a big a piece of **** you make it out to be. Some of you people on here are a little thick. I'm sure they are very close in performance. I just prefer a little more bottom end. We'll see how it drives.

The magazine's editor also wet their pants because there was soooooooo much power from the 338 rwhp 996. They would **** in their pants if they drove my car.
Why do you assume that all Porsche owners have a screen name to this forum? The fact is, 90% of owners don't even know these forums exists, let alone participate in them. I have told you several time, I will not give out personal information. I will type more slowly this time. I will not give out personal information.
You state that you don't have the ability to read the intake temperature. Ever use a themometer? Or an automotive temperature sensor? It's not rocket science. Obviously, if I said I measured the temperature of TPC build 996's, that means I measured the intake temperature of TPC built 996's. Just what don't you understand? There is only one intake. It sits on top of the engine. There is air going into this intake. The air has a temperature. You measure it. You get a result.
I never said that the TPC was a piece of **** or even a bad system. But when you comapre it to the EVO SC, it is a poor performer. If it was the only system that existed, I would probably get one. Thank goodness it's not the only one.
As for the "living with parents" comment? Just don't let them know that you offerd to give me your social secuarity number.
As far as getting more bottom end....marry and Italian woman.
couldn't agree more. let's get back to biz here...
since 1999 won't tell us who he raced, how about taking it out to the track and posting up some 1/4 miles. that would be a great real world performance number that is pretty much universal provided you're not doing your runs in colorado
you info seems to make sense about the intake temps 1999. i'm not a tuner, nor do claim to be. just quoted what i read from a semi respected rag. that's all i got to go on. i wonder why they printed it if it's so far from the truth. that's kind of irresponsible on their part.
when you measureed it, what did you use, a reg thermometer, auto thermomet, etc... ? did you do it right after several runs? how long had the cars been idling? did the tpc car have the front mount radiator? When you said you measured it, I assumed you had a laptop interface and were measuring it off off the maf so how. i wasn't expecting the measurement to as crude as sticking a thermometer in there. whatever works, but that makes sense. did you measure your car and his car on the same day so the outside temps were the same? not breaking *****, i'm seriously interested in that info....
oh wait, got to run...my mom is calling me

Look, Dog. if you want to doubt my info, then do so, but then don't keep expecting me to feed you information. Get out and learn by doing, not by reading.
The truth is, my car does 0 -60 in 45 second and has no bottom end power, no middle range power and really sucks at any rpm over 4000. Intake temperatures are so high, I have to replace my pistons after each drive. I am so upset that I didn't get the TPC unit that does 0 -1000 mph on paper in under 11 seconds. If I just had a piece of paper to prove my lousy performance, maybe someone would believe that my quarter mile ET is under 1 minute at a consistant speed of 53 mph. This is in cooler temps. The time increases when the sun is out. I also have a bias for the EVO system. Of the $10,000 or so they get for each unit, I get a commision of more than $25,000.
You caught me. I am so ashamed of myself. I'm a poser. I DO keep my car nice a shiney, tho.
thanks for the response. i ask you for legitimate info about your intake temp testing and this is what you post. how nice.....
you ***** that i don't know what i'm talking about and then i ask you a reasonable question and this is what i get.
i don't know what your problem is. you seem to think i hate the EVO kit. how many times do i have to post this? I THINK THEY ARE BOTH GREAT KITS. THE EVO IS QUITE OBVIOUSLY VERY HIGH QUALITY AND WELL DESIGNED BY EXPERIENCED TUNERS.
however, i think that for my driving style, the TPC would be more suited to me. that's all. I am trying to arrange a test ride this week in an EVO car. If it feels better I'll buy that one. Could I possibly be any more unbiased????
i'm trying to get some solid info here. if you can't or won't provide it, then stop being a ***** and quit posting and let someone else answer the questions. I'm tired of going back and forth with you.
oh wait, now my mom is going to be on me for naughty language
i'm still trying to figure out that mom crack....

with regards to my request for a quarter mile run, it's not to call you but just for comparison between yours and stock. that's all. i'm not trying to arrange a EVO/TPC showdown. i think that sort of data would be intersting for prospective buyers to know how much performance they're buying for 12K dollars.

hey 1999 how is the SC holding up against gt2's? you raced against them right? i remember you claiming you beat them but didn't show any proof. i remember ben in lj (RIP) kept asking you questions about it and you kept ignoring his questions.
oh hey how about your gt3. you said you had one right? can we see pics? you also said that you enjoy the SC more than the gt3. why not SC your gt3 and get even more enjoyment? ya, i thought so.
oh hey wait, you also said that shocks should last the lifetime of the car and won't need replacing. that's right, you also go by "justanotherporsche" and prop yourself up when everyone is baggin on you, right?
how's your clutch doing? should i bring up that thread too?
2000+ drag races an NO timeslips? hmmmmm..... all those TPC, GT2, GT3, etc, etc kills... with any proof, how is ANYONE supposed to believe you? most people on these boards know some one else on these boards but it seems NO ONE can vouch for you, "JustAnotherPorshce" does not count

everything about you just seems soooo unbelievable

I own a few houses too. Do I have to have pictures to prove it. How about proving I have children? Need pictures too? If I show you a picture of the GT3, are you going to doubt that I have an engine it it? Or that it doesn't run? Sorry, but I have no interest in proving anything to anyone. If you're not interested in my advice and/or opinions or think I am wrong, then either don't read it or come up with some reasonable alternative view.
And that's 2000 Drag races with 2 National Trophies. LOL!
This is really eating you up, isn't it?? LOL. I'm through with this thread.

SC guages
A simple set of gauges could be setup (temps and pressures) in the areas of the image for early detection of problems (loose air hoses, clogged water passages in aftercooler etc.) has anyone added any such devices.
