Yup, I have driven and raced the TPC 996 and 993. And NO, I will not give out names of people. If they want to be known on this board, that is their decision, not mine.

 

yeah okay, 1999. why don't you ask them for permission and get back to us with their screen names. i'm guessing you'll tell us that they chose to remain anonymous why would they care? people talk about beating other people all the time on this board. but with respect to their privacy, that's fine. all i ask is that you ask them for permission and tell us what they said.

 

No, I have no affliation with TPC or EVO...I'm just another 911 member and enthusiast like everyone else here. Looking for maximum bang for the buck** I post to voice my "personal" findings and opinions.
...I'm no stranger to tuning, SC'ing an N/A car in many different applications and motor types, drag racing, etc...and for 911 owners looking to get personalized plates that say "TRBOKLR" without getting embarrased the TPC kit is the only way to go. It's a no-brainer...to me at least

Dog, you get the system you want. I have no interest in what system you decide on. However, I do have an interest in people posting "so called" facts because they read it somewhere, or heard it from someone who know someone who had a friend, etc etc etc. You are obviously not interested in frank conversation from someone who has actual expereince in both systems and installed his first SC in 1972, so it is a waste of time to continue trying educate you on the 2 systems.

 

Hey Kevin. Where do you live? Suggest a run with my EVOMS 3.4 against your TPC 3.6. $10,000 cash on any run from a stop to any speed above 100mph. Interested? I can provide a professional video crew to film everything. I might even be able to get the results into a few magazines.

Here's your chance for stardom! Let me know if your actions are as loud as you words. We can even make it 3 runs so you won't have a "launch" excuse. I will not accept a race that is not filmed.

 

It's so funny, what you just posted was what I had on my mind ....I would take that bet any day, any where. If you want to lose your money THAT fast, I can actually suggest arranging this race with a 996 that already has the TPC SC installed on it locally. (As I had/have already mentioned many times I don't have the kit on mine *YET*) Your $10K would net a FREE TPC kit for me so I'm definitely down for this !!! Woohoo.

1999, maybe you're confused. I got my facts from TPC and EVO. I am merely just comparing the two from what the builders told me. are you more qualified than they are? They are both very honest about what their systems do and don't do.

i'd love to have a frank conversation about it. i appreciate any info i can get. however, back up your facts.

how did you do the intake testing? who's car did you do it on?

who did you race?
who's car have you driven?

i'm not asking for bank pin. simple stuff here.

again, i hope to get a spin an evo this week. i'll post my unbiased impressions. if the evo drives better, then i'll buy it.


kevin, do you have the TPC kit?

the race between Kevin and 1999 would be interesting. however, 1999 has bragged that he has significantly higher HP numbers to some top secret mods that do not come with a stock evo kit

 

oops my bad kev. didn't catch that you don't have the kit. set this race up. that would cool.

 

I think the race is the perfect way to solve this pissing match. Do it so we can all decide what is fact and what is fiction.

 

I'm just familiar with my set-up which I am building from scratch for fun with mods and one of problems using the vortech is definetly the SC oil drain back to the crank, if you choose this type of system I would insist that the SC return line be of metal. I used a metal that is bendable in that area for regidity. In the photo it is the yellow line. Fun tread!

 

Make the arrangements. I can get private time at many tracks since I have more than 2000 drag races under my belt. You want to run title to title...no problem. I will run against any stock 996 with a TPC unit. Funny how you are willing to bet someone elses car but not your own??????

 

....unfortunately I don't have that kit on YET. At this point I'm obviously leaning towards the TPC SC kit. I probably speak of most members when I say I'm not made of money and $13,000 is a huge invesment for me at this point in my life. Actually it's not really even an investment, just a self indulgance. Hence, I've been researching this same issue for many many months now. Talking to EVO directly, visiting one of there installers and talking to them directly. Talking to OWNERS of the EVO kit directly....and the same thing with TPC which is located 30 mins from my house. (EVO installer / distributor is same distance). In my conclusion there's NO comarison between the two kits...completely different. The TPC SC kit far surpasses what a "centri"-EVO kit can dynamically do* Once I can part with $13,000 for something I don't at all "NEED" in this time of recession (which should probably be early spring / or even mid winter coming up) then I will be HAPPY to arrange test drives and rides and races with anyone*, anywhere that can be reasonably arranged...


***1999Porsche911, can you not READ !?!? I don't HAVE the TPC kit yet*** That's WHY I can not race you NOW. Yes, it makes sense to race with someone else's car that HAS the kit on it, LOL. Read above***
