they honestly don't look as rough as the pic. i kind of took that at a funny angle. i'm not saying they're perfect, but that pic doesn't really do them justice. maybe mikyl can take a better one.

Called Suncoast. They said they will ship the gasket right out.

Feeling much better about the headers after speaking to several people "in the know". Guess I shouldn't have been trying to compare them to a $1700 titanium motorcycle racing header.

No plans for b4 and after dyno runs, but I do plan to make serveral b4 and after timed runs. I'm thinking 0-60, 0-100, 35-70, and 70-120. Any other suggestions?

wow... b4 I could click submit I just got an email from Suncoast. They are overnighting the gaskets and a "care package" for "my trouble". Now that's costumer service!

Re: Re: Headers are in

the 0- XXX times are alright but rely too heavily on a good launch. they are still good for ***** and giggles.

i keep hearin 60-130 runs from the TT boards but where the hell can you do that. how about add 30-100 runs.

I can do the 60-130 and 30-100.

All these timed runs are fuzzy numbers due to being dependant on driver skill, road condition, and ...... I plan to do 3-5 of each run and will be as consistant as possible- not bashing gears. It's the decrease in post install times that counts. I'll try to be as consistant as possible and will also be using the software that comes with ODBII scanner (group buy) that will hopefully be delivered today or tomorrow. Between the timed runs and the software I should get a decent indication of gains.

diet sure. i can lose about 25lbs around the midsection

how the hell can you lose weight in the rear? i went with the composite decklid and that helped but throwing on the SC did not. i can go muffler bypass but it's too loud (dreaming up a prototype bypass/muffler combo though). i guess i can get a carbon hood but it'll make the car front end light. hmm... i can get rid of the sunroof and cover it with a carbon top.
ya don't think i've been thinking of it, do you?
As Smokey Unick always said - don't look for one place to loose 100 pounds, look for 1600 places to loose an ounce..

Miykl: i tried that software last night. you can't set the parameters on the timed runs. it's 0-60, quarter mile, etc...

be prepared, the sofware looks for a ton of stuff before you can start measuring like a gtech (gear rations, vehicle weight, final drive, temp, atmos. pressure, etc...)

did you see the "Porsche GT" setting? Were those ratios correct? If not what ratios did you use and would they be the same for the 3.4?

i don't have the foggiest on what setting to use. that connector is very finicky though. i'm going to call jay on monday morning. the software is great when it connects properly. problem is you have to fiddle with the connection a bit to get the computer to recognize the usb connection. worked fine in my saab. weird.....

That connector is a PITA. They make a bluetooth version, not sure if it's any good. Anyway, to put some uniformity to this, the Audworld B5S4 world, has a standard formula for times. The pull is done in third gear, from a minimum of 4,000 rpm's (fitting for our cars) Essentialy it's the time the car takes to get from 4,000 rpm's to 6,000 RPM's in 3rd gear.

http://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/1739846.phtml

http://www.dcautoparts.com/awfiles/fats-peers.gif

Anyway, this might be a good way to put some standards to this. If we could only get a decent OBD system...
