I need new carpet...

Here's my newest retarded brainstorm:

My neighbor let me drive his 04 Turbo S home from the gym yesterday. Same color as my C2 - arctic silver w/ Gray/black interior. Of the 3 million things I loved about that car, one of them I might be able to do something about is the black carpet. It looks sooooooooo much better than the grey I have now. I've installed after market carpet kits in a couple of my former rides and they really make a huge difference for not that much money. None of the sources I've used in the past sells carpet kits for late model Porsche. Google didn't bring me anything either. Anyone have a source? Or another solution? I definitely NEED black carpet.

ebay....you should be able to build yourself a full black interior with parts pulled from a wrecked 996.

just punch in 996 or something in search and go thru the 20 pages of parts and pickup what you need 1 by 1

I was going to do the same thing, adding black carpet to my grey interior. In the end I just put black mats in for about $100. Looks 90% as good for 10% of the money and 1% of the effort. I'd recommend Lloyds - http://www.lloydmats.com for a high quality product.

How about those of us who have black carpet, but the sun has faded the rear portion (say from the rear seats back) to nearly gray! Any idea how to "re stain" carpet to get that black back?!

Too bad they wont let me carry aerosol cans on an airplane (not as checked baggage and much less as carry on). Will see how I can get a hold of this. Thanks!

My first reaction to everything is that it's too expensive. They don't come cheaper than me

I've done some of my own carpet coloring about 15 years back and the results were good but not great. The color will fade and the paint makes the surface a little rough...

Why don't you take it to a pro interior shop and see if they can color it for you... You might have better luck since they know what they're doing.....

GOB, I replaced my rear carpet using a replacement off of ebay. Turned out well. You can probably find some on the net since folks are converting them to dedicated racecars.
