The R35 skyline is as quick as it is HANDS DOWN due to that trans..

If you take a pro racer in both cars it might not be huge but in a track like Sebring that big its around 3 seconds difference for a VERY GOOD driver not a drive that sucks.. For a driver that sucks you can see as much as 10 seconds ill bet..

Nothing you show me will convince me otherwise sorry.. I have driven them all including my SMG M5 and no 6 speed M5 can touch my M5. PERIOD..

10 seconds???????

Absolutely not a chance no way never.

A good driver will not see anywhere near 3 seconds, and there is no test to prove such a thing. Any tests done on cars that offer both transmissions have proven this over and over and over and over again. Many of the tests are done by motoring journalists, and they are showing the same results as the Pro Drivers.

I agree that if you suck you will see more time, but even 3 seconds for a sucky driver is optimistic.

The GT-R is fast because of it's array of computers, AWD and above average sticky stock tires. Cornering speeds have zilch to do with shifting speeds and from any comparison you can see that is where the GT-R is the strongest.

I love all the talk about track times. Probably 90% of owner never track their car. I drive what is fun and a clutch is most definitely in that equation. I could care less if someone with a sophisticated auto manual is faster. I'll have a good laugh when it breaks

have you ever run Sebring.. The track is 3.9 miles 17 turns and 10 second gaps are EASY for a driver who cant down shift and rev match vs the GTR that does it all for you.. So before you say absolutely NO WAY know the facts 1st.. I Have driven that track and i have seen it 1st..

It has nothing to do with how fast it upshifts which will make up time easily.. It has to do with have much less to do in the car..

Ill guarantee a NOVICE driver could go 10seconds quicker in a 100% bone stock GTR vs a GT3.. The GTR weighs more and makes less HP..

The same would go for a PDK Porsche Vs. a GT3 IMO @ Sebring.. Again comparing a driver that SUCKS like i said the 1st time driving both..

10 seconds......... NO.

And this discussion is about the transmission in the same car. To eliminate all of the other things that could make a difference in times and the fact is that PDK, DSG or whatever, ONE THE SAME VEHICLE will not make it much faster.

And not even a novice will gain 10 seconds, that is dripping with unreality.

Since when does a GTR make less hp than a GT3?????

I'd seriously reconsider.

You seem to have missed my original statement

"For a driver that sucks you can see as much as 10 seconds ill bet.."

So yes ill guarantee a novice driver in a GTR thats DCT vs. a GTR that would be manual they will be 10 seconds quicker sebring for sure.. im still sticking to my original statement.. 10 full seconds @ Sebring..

When does the stock GTR thats heat soaked after a couple pulls bone stock make less HP on a road course than a Gt3.. IMO always..

The powerband of a GTR bone stock for what you use on a road course is less than a Gt3 thats a consistent all motor car... I dyno cars all day so i know, trust me.. I can make 10 pulls with a Gt3 and it might vary 5Hp.. do it with a GTR and it drops 30-50hp.. I live in FL and its hot..

The power to weight on a Gt3 regardless is much better if you forget about what the dyno sheet says peak power is anyway..

Yes but you went from driver that sucks to novice, and novice entails a LOT of drivers. Not nearly all of which suck. If a driver is going 10 seconds faster it's because they've gotten better, not because of DSG or PDK.

For your theory to be proved right, the novice sucky driver would have to drive a GT3 around Sebring in a GT3, then around in a GTR 10 seconds faster and then back to the GT3 and back to 10 seconds slower. Yeah right...........

10 seconds even on Sebring is laughable. A novice sucky driver isn't even going to plant the throttle all the way down to make use of the extra hp in the GTR.

I have nothing else to add, this is getting off topic now. I have actual testing of lap times by pros and journalists to back up my claim.

My argument wasnt about Pros.. which is .001% of porsche drivers.. Im talking about something people can relate to.. anyway, back on topic..
