ERP Triple carbon Clutch / GT2 master
ERP Triple carbon Clutch / GT2 master
I have placed my order for my new clutch replacement and finally decided on the ERP triple carbon fiber clutch. I also, have purchased the GT2 slave conversion from EVOMS.
Is the conversion smart for preventing future issues? I have read a few threads on this, which essentially helped make my purchasing decision for this, instead of its better drivability stance.
Does anyone that has this configuration have an experienced opinion of it?

I just added the Erp triple disk ,while we where putting in the gt2 slave conversion & numeric shifter we found out my Sachs 2.5 was toast ,i have to say i like it, very drivable with easy engagement.
Positive! You actually helped me with my decision though. We PM'd about your setup and I would like to see the same but possibly more and the Sachs 2.5 wouldn't cut it. Glad to hear you are happy with the same direction though.
Is the engagement easier with the ERP than the sachs?

Chris,
I'm not familiar with the "Numeric shifter parts" Plural but not? But what would that do to my setup?

This guy is insane with his 996 and the clutch still last, for now.
Did you drill the trans for the gt2/3 slave, or use the offset bracket?
send the evoms kit back and do the oem conversion. save yourself about 400$ and have a oem gt2 setup which is easier to work on.
no matter how you do the conversion make sure you FLUSH THE ENTIRE SYSTEM COMPLETELY before installing the new master and slave. any leftover petosin in the lines will destroy the seals in both quickly

+1. I'd skip the EVOMS bracket and do it correctly like OEM. Cost is a wash since you are doing the clutch and the gearbox is coming out. Drill and tap the gearbox. Is 3zero3 doing the clutch for you? Emery can drill/tap the gearbox for you to do the conversion properly. He did my gearbox. Also have them remove all the old hydraulic lines instead of plugging them. PS pump will need to come out and be disassembled to have the coupler removed also. I would also get the OEM GT2/Tip PS reservoir instead of plugging the old one but I'm a fan of doing things as OEM instead of Frankensteining it.
Good advice.

I was going to schedule the install with Chance. haven't yet spoke with him on the tuning though. since the conversion is slightly risky with pentosin in the lines I may just request the line swap also. Looks like my car may be in the shop for a while for all this.
Chance will take care of you. Flushing the pentosin out of the lines is no big deal. He will probably flush the front lines by using a power bleeder to push the pentosin out of the lines, then flush it with denatured alcohol and finally run several quarts of brake fluid though it. He can completely remove the rear lines (the one's that go to the PS reservoir) from the car. That is easy since Chance normally drops the gearbox and engine out of the car to do a clutch change. Everything will easily be accessible at that point and its easy to do the drill/tap. Don't quote me, but If I recall correctly, the issue with the bracket method is the fact that the angle of the slave rod to the clutch fork is less than ideal compared to the way the slave is configured on the oem set up. At least that's the way I understood it after talking with others including Kevin at UMW. Either way you're in good hands with Chance. He's one of the best out there..
