It's an informative thread. I'm still confused if I need the steering column module. My car is 2007 987.1 Boxster, manual with non-MF wheel. If I swap in a 991.2 manual non-MF wheel, do I need that module ? I read other posts they just did a direct plug and play for their 987.1 cayman/boxster.
Appreciate any input.
You do not need the module for the non-multifunction wheel.
I need to get a 991.2 pdk wheel to replace my 2007 997.1 tip wheel. How do I get in touch with you? Doesn’t appear I can send you a PM due to my low post counts?

The only thing that will not work is the plug and play is MF. Suncoast sells blanks to eliminate the MF switches.
Ebay otherwise Suncoast.
Macan wheel will require the GPS Adapter.
I don't think Porsche makes a heated CF wheel.
I have a 997.1 manual. I do NOT have MF and do not care for MF. In this case, do i need the steering wheel and the new air bag from a 2016 or newer Macan? I could get the blank inserts from Suncoast along with the shroud part#: 95B419798B5Q0. Is there anything else that i need besides this? I understand he horn might not work until i have the dealer recode my current module to a MF. (From my understanding, this coding allows the power to the horn) If i want to install this wheel style:

Manual non multifunction is just a straight forward swap. Take a new style wheel with a new style air bag and install it and it will work plug and play. You can use any sterring wheel and remove paddles from it as mentioned earlier. If you get a good deal on a nice MF wheel, you can remove the buttons too.
I worked with Ryan at Vivid Racing to have an OE blank hand made to my specs, then it was a straight swap of steering wheels. Note how well they matched the leather color on the new sport grips with my OE airbag cover.
