I thought 2009 was pdk. Check your module number... it might be the right one. If I recall you can see it by removing the outer cover.

Isn't your car 2009? I figure you have the new steering module but maybe they only had them on the 2010+.

Got the wheel and airbag off of eBay (911ava) is the user name and he's based in California. Looks like I need to change out the steering wheel module and since this supports heating its a different model number. Will keep you posted late next week and hopefully I don't need programming.

it will be hit and miss. if you have a used module it MAY already be coded to exactly the settings that you need based on your car configuration.

Hey guys, resurrecting an old thread but need help with my steering wheel upgrade install.

I had the basic 997.1 steering wheel with triangle airbag, no multifunction on the steering wheel. I purchase a 997.2 steering wheel with new airbag along with steering control module. The new steering wheel also has no multifunction on the wheel. When they installed the new wheel and programmed the new module. The horn worked on the new wheel but for some reason they couldn’t get my multifunction stalk to work right on the steering column. The lever that you can cycle through to check tire air pressure, error codes etc. Since they couldn’t get that to work, they put the old module back in. The stalk multifunction lever now works but I have no horn.

Is there something we should be doing correctly to get the new module to work with the 997.1 multifunction stalk on the column? Hopefully I’m explaining this right.

Who's they? I've sold 30 wheels and they never had this issue. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you what they did wrong, as normally they just activate the pdk.

My guess is they just need to turn on those functions. Did they download your current functions from your existing module?

Sam Ahdoot and his shop did the install with my overall stage 4 build. In talking to Sam his guys loaded the software to the new module and I have the right module part number. 99761328901. When you say activate the PDK what does that mean since mine is a manual.

Never mind on the pdk.... it doesn't apply.

If they transferred the software it should work. I took mine off a 2010 boxster and it was plug and play.

The part number is right.

Hi guys, I am struggling doing my 997.1 to 997.2 steering wheel swap.
Is seems that there are different airbag types.
I know that the wire has to be within the channel that the horn is not stucking
in the down position, but as you can see on the 2nd picture the one I have is rotated to the one from eBay.
- the mounting plate and especially the connectors are rotated and not reachable without being to short at the end.

All information and tips are highly appreciated!
Maybe someone could give me a matching airbag part number to the steering wheel part number.

Thanks David
