Pads 997.2 non-S

Asked before but cant find the posts.

Are there any aftermarket brake pads available for teh non-S 997.2.

I cant seem to find any and am put off taking my car to the track (which was one of the reasons I bought it).

Am seriously thinking of selling the car as this year I have only done one day of DE.

Have another event coming up, but am planning on passing as the idea of using the stock pads dont appeal to me.

Even a sport compound would be worth it.

Are the brake pads sold on the Euro model identical to the one stateside?

Anyone here feel comfy tacking their Carrera with stock pads?

Pagid Yellows are excellent. Used them on the Cayman. They don't have the right size for the 997.2 yet.

Still looking for the right size. performance Friction doesn't make one, Hawk doesn't.

I think because the track junkies usually buy the Carrera S mostly, there probably isn't much incentive for companies to make a pad that fits the non-S 997.2 car.

I was kinda bummed to find out no after market pads are available. The new caliper also looks like it needs to be unbolted for pad changes. Were 997.1 non-S calipers like this? I should have done more homework
Had I known I probably would have gone for the S just for the brake upgrade.

Bummer. I was hoping someone, somewhere would have a solution by now. Looks like OEM pads for me at Infineon...

Contact Craig at Rennstore.com I believe he has pads for the .2

Also you are going to be in for some work to swap pads on the standard .2 calipers. You will need to take the caliper off to do this unlike the open back of the S brakes.

Craig doesn't have pads for the -2 yet. He's pestering Pagid to make one to fit.

I personally don't mind working on the closed calipers. A pain to be sure, but I used to do it with the BMWs in the old days.

Less track time = frustration and maybe I just take the hit and dump the 911. Plenty of cars out there that are easier to get on the track.

I have given myself till next spring. If no pads by then, its bye bye 997.

I called Pagid and a rather nice gentleman with a strong German accent told me that the pad fitments for the 997.2 non S should be available in 3-4 months.

Good news for us non-S drivers.
