jack daniels just took in a 08 ( i think ) red. May look at this this weekend. The GT3 is a knock out in red.

The PDK would go . The M3 has to stay . We need the space .

It actually comes out to 139 with gas guzzler tax . There's no markup on the price but there is a huge gap from invoice to MSRP .

They have a lot of room . It's whether or not they are willing to take the risk on accepting my trade Vs finding a buyer who walks in and pays MSRP . They are thinking too (i;m sure) just as i am .

I don't see a flooded market of GT3. Its a newer version gt3 this year and my guess it that they will sell.

I think you have convinced yourself of a market that is not set yet.
1) Trade in is not a private sale . It's less than a private sale UNLESS one is trading up . Most dealerships are bright enough not to insult an owner on a car that he is trading it . It's a quick way to see him walk .
Plus trading a Porsche for another Porsche offers potentiial for a double profit . If my car was a Honda or BMW they would have to find a wholesaler ready to buy it .

2) Once upon a the no one had Gt3's . Now they are even more plentiful than Turbos were when I bought mine . Look at all the Turbos now . This BTW is not a good sign fior Gt3 resale . Porsche simply built too many cars in 2009 .. Period . Hence the recent sales and discounts.

I wish you good luck Larry and long life. But why u need to trade in ur PDK , just add GT3 to the stable that way u have all the best collection of P-cars. The PDK is a good DD car anyway, sell the M3 and keep the PDK. Anyhow it is ur decision and we wish u the best.

Yea, trade M3 for GT3.

If you need more space, you can buy a Cayenne Turbo.

I don't need that much more space . The M3 really works .. it's still a keeper.

Why not get a Nissan GT-R? I suspect it will outperform the GT3 anyway.
It seems that a 997.1 modded turbo, 997.2S and 997.2 GT3 would be too much of the same thing. You might want to consider trying something different.

you must be kidding right!?

I wouldn't even trade a C2S for the GT-R, and you're saying buy it over a GT3? you are definitely in the wrong forum.

If it is about "Porsche art", not speed, then plenty of cars faster than a GT3 - if that were the point. That GTR is art like Dali and Van Gogh had a fight while doing the bad acid. Sure beauty is in the eye of the beholder - that car makes my eye hurt.

I thought that the dealer's margin was about $10k on a base GT3, so figure another 20-25% of the additional options and that would be my estimated margin. In the case of a $139k optioned GT3, I'd think about $15-16k worth of margin for the dealer. Just my guess.

Another forum member just bought a Turbo on my referral . He posted his deal of 15 percent off on the Turbo forum. There's a lot more fluff in thse cars than just invoice to MSRP . I don't know if Porsche is giving incentives but I do know this .. even my 997s car was 21K less than MSRP (20 percent) .

The old "we only charge MSRP for a Turbo or Gt3 " days are long gone .
The stock market is down 151 points at this "porsche moment" ---no one is lining up to buy Gt3's at MSRP . In fact it wasn't that long ago when the Dow went below 7000 and dealership sales were very , very quiet.

My car still isn't ready so I have to wait another day . Awaiting software from germany .

I feel like I can't lose no matter what I do .
If I don't buy the Gt3 --I still have my Turbo and PDK cars .
If I do buy it -- I added another amazing car .

I won;t pay MSRP though and one thing both dealerships shared in common is that they didn't flinch when I insisted that I am not buying anything without a discount. It's very hard for a dealership to find a guy who can pay for the car and many who aplly for cedit get denied . That Gt3 could sit a long time --or it coild be sold to me .

That's what i am hoping for.
