Anybody had this problem?
Anybody had this problem?
I was driving today and i drove over a depressed part of the road . i then heard something that scraped underneath the car. When i reached home, i examined the car and found the plastic moulding in both sides of the bumper scraped . The front mud guards are scraped too, but i am most concerned by the plastic moulding.
Am i the only one who had experienced this? Anybody had this problem too?
I was thinking of replacing it but is it worth it?
Anybody had the chance to replace them, seems to be a simple DIY?
tnx

Our cars ride low and you have to anticipate that a bump of dip in the road that wouldn't faze another car might cause contact with the lower parts of a Porsche's bodyworks. Steep driveways (like mine) or sharp angled intersections require a slow approach at just the right angle to lessen any contact. Bottom line: You ain't the first.
There are mud flaps but what I scraped is the plastic moulding at the edge and underneath the bumper. They are exactly infront of the wheels.
It is visibly scraped when looking at the right side. I will call my stealer and see if this can be replaced and how much. I am still grateful the bumper was not scraped, I was surprised actually.

I wouldn't be in too big a hurry to go out and replace...
Have you been driving it long enough to know how to avoid scraping them again? Does it really impact the appearance...or only to someone looking for it?

Under hard threshold braking those pieces that come down in front of the tire to channel air into the brake ducts scrapped...after a few laps they ground down a little and stopped.
Nothing to worry about...it happens

after 6 months look down there again - with good probability all you`ll find there will be clean scraped off gray plastic with some holes here and there.
unless you flatbed your car home and store it in a plastic bubble from day one, you will scrape those areas at some point. oops wait, getting it on and off the flatbed will scrape - please disregard my earlier hypothesis. :P
I guess I would get used to it. It distracted me a little bit as I was using the car as a weekend car, and this happened. I am sure others may have had the same problem, it just pisses me off.

I live in sf, I took it slow and can judge most places. I have scratches under but none visible so I guess im lucky.
Although I did hit a dip and dumped a crap load of coffee on my pants. That was not fun
