It doesn't trigger any codes but you need to make sure they work before putting the case back together, if they don't, just reverse the connection.

I changed all the bulbs on the car and I couldn't be happier!
So my ebay LED License plate lights burnt out after two weeks?!?! I contact the seller and he's sending me another set, I find it hard to believe that both lights would burn out after a month. I'd understand one faulty light but two?? Anyone else have this issue? When I went to replace them the LED's had fallen off the strip and the assembly was rather hot to the touch.

Agreed! I replaced every bulb on my car to SMD LED with exception to brake lights. (still looking for a good option) Interior, running lamps, lic. plate, glove box, rear side markers, doors, etc... I'm thinking of trying out some instrument cluster bulbs as well.

I went through the exact same experience with ebay license plate leds, burnt out after a few weeks with one led fallen off the strip. I have since replaced them with SMD LEDs from VLEDs and they are still going strong after 5 month.

Seems like this will continue to happen, can you point me to the specific lights you bought? I'm half tempted to buy the set of the board sponsor but 110 bucks for LED's.... Man.

Just order a pair of 38mm festoon 6-LED bulbs (5K color) from v-leds.com. They are about 25USD for the pair IIRC.

Hope it helps.

I'm having a very bizarre issue with my footwell/glove box lights.

Here's what I know:

Passenger footwell stock light works but when I plug the led light into that housing, it doesn't.

When I keep that same led bulb in the same housing and plug it in the glove box, it works.

I never removed the bulb and kept everything consistent and tried it 5+ times. Reversed polarity, tried different housings etc etc.

So I put the old bulb back in and it still works.

Does anyone in their right mind have any idea why my passenger footwell won't except an led bulb? Is this crazy or what?

I'm willing to try a different bulb so if someone can recommend something else that might work that would be great.

(I'm using the same bulbs from V-LED's as described in this thread)

I think something else on the same circuit as your footwell is at fault. The housing and the LED bulb are fine. So lets consider what else is on the same circuit and eliminate these first. Try switching with the other footwell and see what happens. Are the kerb lights in the doors working? Is the centre light on the rear view mirror working?

Footwell lights are finicky due to the design of the housing. You have to make sure the metal brackets aren't shorted and that they are truly making contact with the contacts on the bulbs.

Done and Done.

Everything has been changed and tried separately and it still doesn't work. All the other lights work great.

Have you tried plugging glove box housing (+led) into the passenger footwell? Or driver side footwell housing (+led) into the passenger side footwell?

Yes.

I have tried every housing in all three locations and it's just the passenger footwell that doesn't work with the LED bulb. Works with the regular bulb but not the led.

I ordered new bulbs and they should be here soon so hopefully a different type of bulb will do the trick.

It really makes no sense at all to me. I know the wires and the housing work because my old bulb still works.

That's weird, hope you have better luck with the new LEDs. Which type did you order?

I use the same VLEDS T10 4 LED 2W flank style bulb for both footwell and glovebox lights and never had any problems.
