997.2 LED Interior Lights

Has anyone replaced stock interior lights with LED bulbs?

What types of LED bulbs would I need? Does anyone have a list (including glove box and trunks)?

Appreciate any help!

I have finally received my order from vleds (thanks to ELUSIVE and gasongasoff for their parts list), installed everything last night, and here are the pictures.

I replaced all of the stock interior bulbs to LEDs on my 997.1
Most are either 2825 or 6411 and pretty easy to install. I much prefer the white light of the LEDs to the halogens.
Got them from VLEDs. http:www.v-leds.com

Good to know white light works. Do you have any pics of your interior with the LEDs on?

Here's a few crappy camera phone pics I just took:
I like the 5K lights much better than the 6K. 6K is too blue.

I replaced all of mine to white LED's. The color temp is around 6000k, and they're white with little-to-no bluish cast.

You can find bulb sizes here:
http://www.superbrightleds.com/vehic...ulb_finder.php

For the 997-2, one thing to know is that the courtesy lights in the door require very compact bulbs, they won't take LED's that are much taller than stock. The bulbs in the footwells also need to be relatively compact, but in terms of width.

997-2 sizes are easy:
T10 (=194) in footwells, dome light (L/R), door courtesy lights
44mm festoons in dome light (center), and the frunk
36mm festoons x2 in license plate lights

The hard part is matching color temperature perfectly between bulbs of different sizes, especially in the dome light where it's very noticeable.

Also, you'll definitely want at least 1W bulbs to match the brightness of the stock halogens. Inexpensive or low-power LEDs aren't as bright.

This is what I used. All 5K bulbs and in my opinion they are very bright and match perfectly: I was not happy with the 6K bulbs. Too Blue in my opinion when matched side by side.

Thanks for the pictures and the list. How are the brightness of those 2W LEDs compared to stock halogens?

Thanks for the info. Do you any pictures of your interior? I'm debating whether to go with 6000K or 5000K

The 2W bulbs are bright. Definitely brighter than stock, but I wanted that.
The problem that I had with this particular spot was that I couldn't fit the other 194 size bulbs into the bulb socket because the base of the bulb was too thick. VLED's recommended this bulb as the base is thinner.

If you want a pure bright white light go with 5k, if you want a slight blue tint..go with 6k.

I'm pretty sure that I still have some 6k bulbs lying around so I could take some comparison shots. I can also take a pic of the front of my Escalade because I have 6k DRL's (only come in 6k) and 5K running and fog lights. Let me know if that would be helpful and I can snap a few photos tonight.

Yeah I'd very much appreciate it if you can take some comparison photos.

I actually want the LEDs to be bit dimmer than stock halogens, so my face is not in the spotlight every time someone opens the door. Maybe 1W bulbs would suit me better.

Ok, i'll try and get some shots tonight. The 2w bulbs are bright when you look directly at them but by no means do I ever feel like it's a spotlight. I think it's a good amount. I have the 1w in my Escalade and it feels too dim.
