Installation Video

The DRLs looks absolutely amazing! Thanks Ray. Will begin testing them later. Fingers cross..hopefully no error codes. In the meantime, I had a little trouble figuring out how the heck to install the DRL but after some reading it was too simple. Anyhow, I made a short video on how to do it. Hope this helps.

Thanks or the video! Yes, this should be a easy fix and I've arranged a local car for testing this weekend.

The only time I ever get the "Right side light error" is after driving the car on the freeway for about an hour and hit a good amount of bumps. It usually comes on if I hit a really big bump which leads me to believe a loose connection to a resistor somewhere. The error never shows up if the car is idle or when I drive on side streets.

I get that msg the minute I start my car.

These error messages seem to be caused by variety of R/L lights inside the DRL, and also at different times during different conditions. Makes me wonder if this is just poor assembly all together, as there errors and issues are all across the board. Hope that I'm wrong and that there is a simple fix for this in the works, but I see having to take these out for replacement when it becomes available.

To get the new DRLs out, simply pry them out with something while the card is inserted and they will pop out with just a big more effort than OE. No big deal, just don't scratch the paint.

So far so good...no error codes! I'm just a bit curious, when the headlights and DRL comes on, the middle light row is lightly lit right? I thought that it would be brighter. However, when I use the headlights along with the fog lights then the third row led is very bright. So I guess my questions is when the headlights are on normally along with the DRL, the middle row led is alot dimmer than the third led row right? I just wanted to make sure this is normal. Thanks!

The middle light is a parking light, which is always less bright than a fog light or DRL. Just look at the low level of light from the normal parking light, compared to the normal fog light.

Hey guys, if you are having trouble getting the Rottec DRL light out, trying using two cards. Insert the OEM card that came with the car and then insert another card similar in size (a flimsy will not work). By doing so, the light will pop out. I had an old Direct TV card I used and it popped out. Hope that helps.

It's included in your Owner's Manual Booklet Holder. If you bought your car used, then it may not be there anymore.

Has anyone else that installed the Dectane DRL module tried to hook up their car to a battery charger like in this thread?
