your best bet woul be to purchase new plastic ones, ave them painted by Eric at bumperplugs and install. that's what I did. you need to destroy the pins to remove the old spears and when you install the painted ones, you need to melt the new pins into the backing. another option is to cut the pins and use screws to secure it. I love mine!

The door spears will break when you remove them (per MACarbon) so you'd need to buy new ones and send them to a body shop to get them painted. I changed mine into leather and recall that the door panel needs to be removed to install the spears.

As others have said, you have to essentially destroy the old ones taking them out (also known as door finishers)

I did this DIY mod on my old Cayman and am contemplating it on my new-to-me 997.

Here's a very detailed DIY on replacing them (taken from Planet-9 - the 997 is the same as the Cayman..)

Highly recommend Eric at BP for the new painted ones.

I ordered new leather ones from the dealer.
I took the door card off to take a look at fitting one but didn't have the tools to complete it.
ill get the dealer to do it next year sometime.

Its one of them little things that annoy me in my car ....
all that black leather everywhere .. then a piece of plastic right in the middle.
