Painted side skirts?

The side skirts came unpainted from the factory (see attached picture)

I was looking to get it painted but wanted to know if I can just removed the side skirts and have it painted or do I need to buy a new set?

Reason I'm asking if I have to buy a new set is because I was a bit concerned that the paint won't stick since they're old, etc.

If I can use the existing side skirts, do I need to tell the auto body shop to use any special paint process?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

They should be lightly sanded and primed and the paint will hold just fine. You'll want to leave your car at the paint shop to make sure they match the metallic paint as close as possible. Metallic paints are harder to match than flat colors.

Awesome. Thank you for the suggestion!! I'll talk the local bodyshop. I think if I bring the side skirts to a reputable bodyshop, I think they'll be able to match pretty closely without having my car there. My C4S is my daily driver

they cant match it if they dont have your car to match it to, they will have to just go from the paint code, silver is very hard to match, you would likely only have to leave your car for a day, i would definitely do it

You can give the shop your gas cover flap for color match if you need the car for some reason while the the paint work is being completed.

Do you guys have the instructions for removing the side skirts?

By the way, the body shop wanted $500 for painting side skirts and the 2 cone-like polyurethane pieces on the front and rear lower bumper. Does that sound right in terms of price?

I did mine...no instructions...real easy.
You will need to buy some of the plastics push pins from Porsche. I broke 4 or so. I bought 8 new ones anyway, think they were $1 each or something. Kept the tires on. Would have been easier with them off though. Had my son help me with re-install. Cake!

1. After all these months, is the paint staying on? Are you seeing any paint chips, etc?

2. Did you get the cone-like pieces in the front and rear lower bumpers painted too?

3. What did you think of the price of $500 total for all the trim pieces. 2 side skirts, 4 cone-like shape and front lip

Did mine the day we took delivery, but silver is a ***** to match. And there is a trick to this - you do NOT want to paint the lowers the exact same tint at the car. They reflect light differently at the bottom. We spent an entire day doing tints (yeah, I'm as picky as they come)....finally got a custom mix on the 9th try that was dead perfect based on light reflection.

Did the rear lip, front lip and both sides on the Turbo.

Nice! Did you have the shop remove the trim bits or did you do it yourself?
Do you mind me asking for cost for the removal (if you removed it) and the cost of painting the pieces?
