Sweaky clucth pedal

Squeaky creaky just a little annoying
Anyone else get the sound of an old wooden floor squeak when letting out the clutch pedal?

If you have a 997.1, it is that stupid clutch assist spring under the dashboard.
Very annoying. I am going to disconnect it.

Makes sense what do you lose if you remove it

It depends on where the squeak is coming from.

If it's from under the dash, it is mostly the clutch pedal helper spring.
Quite a few users have reported a "better" pedal feel after removing the spring.

If it's from under the car, then probably slave cylinder or fork or pressure plate etc.
Better to look under the car, maybe when hoisted up on a lift or take it to the shop.

Defiantly the inside - it does not make the noise when not in gear - neutral no squeak

It is a pain in the ****, to be polite.

- Move the driver seat as far back as possible.
- Using a lamp, find the spring connected to the clutch pedal.
- There is a trick to remove it, but I can't recall. Do a search on this forum or Rennlist forum.
- You will lose the assistance, but gain in finer control of the clutch pedal. And the noise will be gone.

Sorry for not being able to give you all the details. I need to do that modification too.

Guys, check out our squeaky clutch thread in the 997 Turbo forums. Is this the same problem?

I uploaded a video of the squeak. Maybe we can consolidate ideas on how to fix it.
