Window feature, NEED HELP !

2006 997.1 Love the way the windows lower a bit when you open the door from the inside or out and it raises again after the door is shut. Great tight seal against the rubber this way.

Don’t know if it was after I had PPF put on the car and installer drained the battery or after the colored inside door pull was installed but this no longer works correctly on the driver’s door. Passenger side is fine. I mention these in case either could have had an impact.

When you pull the inside or outside door handle the window still lowers correctly but as soon as you release the handle it raises fully again. It doesn’t wait until the door is shut so it clanks off the rubber seal and the door doesn’t shut properly. Just push it again and it’s fine but I can see it pushes a lot on the glass and I don’t want to degrade the seal it does make when closed.

I did find two different reset procedures to lower and raise the window fully holding the switch for different amounts of time but neither had an impact.
I suspect it’s likely a problem with the micro-switch indicating whether the door is open or closed. Anyone know where this is located or how to troubleshoot it ???

I believe that one is inside the door near the catch T a T grabs the striker. It sounds like at least 2 of yours are working, since lifting the outside handle or pulling the new inside strap both make the window drop, but it doesn't stay down when the door is open.

Petza914, thank you for the response.
I believe I came across an earlier post of yours offering good assistance.
I am about to remove the door panel and check out the door latch/striker switch based on the following threads. Posting them as they go over different symptoms and might help others.

From the same description. Already tried the battery disconnect for 10 min. Had no affect.
Same issue

Tried the window relearn function from Post #4 in this thread.

https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...he-way-up.html
- Lower the window and continue to depress the button for about 10 seconds. Raise the window and continue to depress the button for 10 seconds. Repeat this process down and up a second time.

Post #10 from this same thread was the best resource yet

This seemed to confirm the diagnosis from link above.
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...oor-shuts.html

- Yes, my door light comes on when I open the driver’s door. Some switch is recognizing the door is open.
- Then Post #5 with the same symptoms as I deduced it was the door latch switch.
