Your bulbs are probably just burned out. The housing for the bulb just comes off with your hand or a flat head. Its easy to reach up there, pull the housing off, take out the bulb and just see if the filiment is burned out and that will answer your question definitively. Here is the bulb I got for the trunk:

Quantity: 2
Product: High Power 6-LED Festoon bulb $ 14.95 (each)
Options: Cool White - 7000K 42mm 4210-xHP6

Any heads up on how to get the license plate lights out? I don't want to break anything. Thanks.

Well, the passenger side come off easy. I can not get the driver's side to budge. Hmmm....just seems that it is stuck.

Yes, the drivers side was a pain and I ended up chipping mine slightly while using a flat head to get it loose. You have to use the flat head on the left slotted side of the cover just like you did with passenger side cover which makes it pretty hard to get a good angle on it. Use a small towel to protect your car where the screwdriver will brace for leverage so you dont get a chip/scratch. I couldnt find a simple solution just add more pressure and hope it doesnt crack. Nothing different mentioned in the users manual either so this is the only way.

Thank you to all the posters on this thread. I ordered the bulbs and did the install in 30 minutes. All the informative posts made it a breeze. Nothing was hard but the foot well bulbs were a little difficult trying to fit my body under the dash. Thanks again!

just finished my interior lights. per astons manual and because i couldn't get to the screw behind the microphone plate i just removed the round light housings. I used a very small phillips screw driver, pried from a couple locations. pulled out slightly, then there are 2 clamps that lock in place when you place the housing back, i used the screwdriver to push one of those in and pulled the housing out completely. much easier than removing the whole unit, no damage to leather if you use a small screwdriver.
