My thanks to the OP as well. I just installed the interior and trunk lights. It took maybe 15 minutes to change all of them. Thanks again.

I installed blue and red led light bulbs on all my interior lights as well as my license plate, trunk, and reverse lights. The following are instructions and bulb guide for a 2009 G37 sedan. retrofit led lights

Question Help Needed With Map Lights!!!

Ok guys... I'm half way there. I replaced the trunk lights and floor lights without any problems at all thanks to the help of everyone here. The floor lights are tough to reach but with some body contorting, I got it. For the trunk lights... I too unplugged the orange housing first before changing each bulb and did not blow my fuse.

Now for the map lights... I've read through this post several times but it just doesn't seem to be the same with my car as described. I have a 2009 V8 Vantage Coupe. I easily removed the map light covers with a flat screw driver as stated. Image 3 attached shows each side of the covers which have a central clear plastic lens in the middle. Once removed, when I look into the holes in the ceiling where they came out from I see images 1 & 2. There is a silver fixture with the light inside of it that is either metal or plastic. I cannot tell for certain but it seems to be plastic. It is also attached to the flat black plate as seen in image 2 with the white 318 on it. I tried to pry this out with a screw driver and tried to pull it out with a pair of pliers but it again seems to be attached to the flat black part and wont come out. When I look into it the bulb doesn't even look like a bulb at all. It looks like a single small LED that may be attached to some sort of circuit board. You can see this in image 1. It's the small yellow square in the middle. Could this be different in the 2009 coupe as compared with the 2008 and earlier vantages?

My question is, is this how everyone else's looked and if so where/what is the metal housing I pop out with the small flat screwdriver as described? If I have to remove the entire unit as described initially in this post, how do I remove the small slotted plate covering the microphone to get to the screw? Does it clip in? It seems pretty fragile and I don't want to break it trying to pry it off.

Bazonkers... I ordered the lights for the doors too, but I haven't tried to replace them yet. Have you received yours and installed them yet? They have a red cover plate and thus appear red when the doors are opened as in image 4. Does replacing the bulb really change the look much here since it's got a red cover plate? How do I get the cover plate off? Is it like the trunk ones were?

Thanks for all of the help guys and to those (bazonkers and eelton) who responded to me previously. And a HUGE thanks to Astonaficianado for the detailed instructions. Thanks! I tried to send you a message but it wouldn't let me. Not enough posts yet I guess. Someone... Anyone... Please help! I 'm half way done with different color interior lights now since I still have the original map lights in place. Thanks again!

Your map lights look different than what is in my 07 V8V. Maybe someone with your model will chime in. As for the door lights, mine had a tab at each end of the plastic lens. I used a small screwdriver to gently push the tabs in and pulled then pulled the lens out.

facialcrunch: are your map lights already LEDs? My car (2011) already has LEDs for the map lights. Maybe they changed this with the 2009 MY.

I just got my bulbs Saturday so I might do it today. If you look at the door light, the top part is red and the bottom part is clear (at least on mine). The red should stay the same look but the clear part should be much brighter, throwing more light down on the ground as a puddle light. The intent of the white part is so that you can see what you are about to step into when you get out of the car. When I removed one to look at the bulb, I carefully pried the bottom of the light and it came out similar to the trunk lights. It's a little more snug but not much.

Nice. I noticed the clear bottom below the red just after I posted before. Let me know how the new lights look and if the difference is noticeable. Thanks for the info!

I guess my map lights are already LED's so just a FYI for anyone out there swapping their lights, starting in 2009 (?) they have LED map lights already so no need to swap.

But are they lower wattage than the ones you bought? Or are they installed in such a way that you can't swap for the ones you bought?

I tried to pull out the metal fixture holding the led but it wouldn't budge. I probably shouldn't have because I practically broke it, but the posts here said to pull it out with a screwdriver so I tried I'm sure the wattage is lower. It's a single LED but doesn't look like a bulb. It appears to me as a LED attached to the circuit board looking thing. I may be wrong as its hard to see and I didn't take it all apart. I'm just glad the OEM LED is practically the same cool white color because if not I'd have ended up with either different color bulbs or wasted $ if I kept the OEM bulbs.

Ok, so weird update. I put the LEDs in the doors (I picked up the ones from superbrightleds with the 3 leds) and they work great ... until they start to blink every 5 seconds or so. It doesn't matter if the car is on or off, armed or unlocked. That said, these don't work. I even tried some 6 led versions from V-Leds and same blinking.

I put the original bulbs in, no issues. Anyone venture a guess as to what would cause this? I'd imagine the reason is far beyond something I want to solve but I'm curious.

Changed my lights in the DB9 today, super easy and took <5 minutes to do all 8. WLED6 for all 8 bulbs (map, footwell, rear reading, boot). Unfortunately my boot lights don't work. They didn't work before trading them out so I guessed they were just burnt out based on a couple other replies in this thread...as it turns out they don't work the LEDs either. *edit* I checked fuse 17 and it isn't blown, I think the only other thing in the circuit is relay 6 in the boot fusebox but I can't find any numbering on them. The lighting around the power socket isn't lit up either so it's the whole circuit that seems to be out. Anyone know which relay is #6? Here's a before an after of the front map lights....

Wow, the side-by-side comparison really shows the difference! The OEM incandescent bulbs were nearly useless as I recall.

Yeah when I put the first one in I was very surprised by the difference and decided to snap a pic for those on the fence as to whether this makes a difference or not!
