Help with rock chips!

So i've driven about 1,500 miles (mostly highway miles) and noticed a ton of rock chips right above the side skirts (rocker panels) near the rear section both sides. i have a 2007 v8 vantage not sure if the design of the side skirts combined with the lowering is making it worst. i noticed the rock chips after i lowered the car.

i clear bra the fb, hood, and fenders but if i went up higher above the side skirts it would leave a line with the clear bra. Any suggestions? Anyone have the same problems?

Do you have the guards on your car? Not sure what you call them but they're like rigid mud flaps attached at the rear of the front wheel arches. They might help.

I took off the factory clear bra on the side skirts and put new clear bra extended up and over.

Definitely get the flaps for the front wheels.

Racer_X: I don't believe i have the mud flaps are they standard? Any pics or links? Vorsteiner is producing a new aero package which will include new side skirts so i'm not sure the mud flaps will work with the new kit. Also it might change the look.

Seattle_Sun: How did you extend the clear bra on the quarter panel? If you go higher there will be a line on the quarter panel.

Thanks for your help!

I believe they are called "stone gaurds" and you can pick them up from the AM dealer for around $350. I have them on my car and they do help out a lot in terms of rocks being kicked back ...

Holy crap! My dealer charged me $100 for the pair. What ridiculous markup is your dealer charging?

There is a line on the quarter panel, but I had it professionally installed and you can barely see it. I originally had the stock stone guards and they are not big enough to protect the quarter panel.

Axarunner: Clean out your guards (unscrew it) and you'll see tons of rocks that it collects. It's not perfect but it does help a lot.

Agree. Mine origionally did not have the stone guards and I noticed chips. They have slowed greatly after adding the guards. I do not even notice them now.

You're right about the rocks in the guards... I wonder how bad my quarter panels would look without them.
