Need advice
Comming out of a 07 SL 550, always loved the look of the AM. I came across a 2007 Vantage V8. Car has 17000 miles and is gorgeous blue. My concern is that eventhough the car is from a AM dealer, there are no service records. The asking price is 77,000. The car,to my I looks clean- . Clutch and brakes were done by the dealer.
Would like to get some input

I personally would only buy a used car if I had detailed service records. That is 6+ years now with zero records of even an oil change....that is a little scary IMO.
Some have seen their vantage clutches go with so little mileage but many others have seen 30,000+ (mine included). One may assume that the previous owner wore through the clutch in part because of their driving? Another concern.
If you must-i would get a different dealer to do an inspection before you purchase as there are a couple in So. Cal. I would also negotiate a better price and/or get a warranty added to the car.

I'm with DetomasoGTS74. The clutch & brakes are probably worth $5-7K, but suggest that this example has been driven hard/badly.
If the dealer will throw in a full AM warranty at that price it might work out. Be very careful with this one.

That price does seem high for an 07. My thought is a price around or below $70k is more like it.

Drive the car and have a PPI - pre purchase inspection done by an Aston expert of your choice. I don't think a replaced clutch and brakes should be a deal breaker, these cars are actually better when driven a bit, so long as the car checks out.

^^ dunno Astons are all over the board...they don't really go for under 70K though no matter how many miles or age I think they level off around there... the v12 cars have a higher leveling off point and again the year, mileage, and condition stabilize.

If the car was serviced at an AM dealer, shouldn't the (any) AM dealer be able to look them up? Has the dealer told you that there are no records available, which would suggest it wasn't serviced at an AM dealer (or at all)?

4.3's do go for under 70k, at least they were several months ago. (Talking about sales price, not asking price.)
