Just bought another Aston today
Thanks for photoshopping the remainder of the stripe. It helps people visualize what it would look like full length without me having to go through the effort of putting the film on first. I do think the full length looks good and it was my original intent to do that. It's just that when I did the first piece I realized that it looked pretty cool with just the short stripe.
As far as the GT4: as you probably know, the car was named N430 for the rest of the world. Aston decided to rebadge it (with a slightly different spec) as the "GT" just for the North American market. The problem is that most people in the US associate the GT moniker with the Ford Mustang. The fact that Ford's design language has been mimicking Aston lately doesn't help. I decided to rebadge my car as the GT4 since the car was originally designed as a special edition to pay homage to the racecar that raced this year at the Nurburgring 24. That and I like the look of the GT4 logo better.

tapering it from say 1 or 2" behind front wheel well out to the full width in the back.
I do like the look of the whole stripe Kanga did. Just curious, would it be too low if you placed the stripe just above where the sill angles out (the part that was yellow on the car originally. SO the strip would run along that sill edge.
I do have to say tho, I like all the variations that you've got here.

I can't get onboard with the yellow stripe, even the stubby one. Calls way to much attention to the door cuts and generally just feels out of place on the car.
Graphite (wheel color) stripe though...

Except I'm partially colorblind (green and grays are the worst for me, ironically) so I wouldn't even be able to see it.
In your honor, I have now dubbed the short version: "the stubby stripe"!

And, shouldn't you be inside the car and leave the admiring to us droolers outside?
Another thought. Part of what bothers me in that stripe is that it is so thick and blocky. Wouldn't a slim stripe below (or even one above and one below) break it up in a satisfying way? I'm hoping that Kanga is reading this and cranking up PS for a preview...
I'm probably smitten with my own idea, but I think that's better than the solid block stripe.
Meanwhile, looking at the gloss black window trim and tail light trim...gloss black sticker?
...nah, that yellow looks hawt. Really want to see it on the street.

Love the GT4 thoughts. Wondered how that came about. Keep the thread going Karl, your ideas are amazing. Would love to get a poll on the forum, of how or what members have done utilizing your ideas and making them their own for their car. Even if its an exact copy, the likely hood of seeing another is so minimal. Great to see a car of this caliber being done right.
Might want to think of the clear bra for the front end, before coating. Coatings do not play nice going on top of a coating.
Beautiful, and cannot wait for some professional photos.
