Well, a little progress:

Just got word that my car set sail yesterday aboard the vessel "Toledo" to make its journey across the Atlantic.

We'll watch the news and hope that ship name doesn't surface any time soon. Er, we want it to stay on the surface. Er, I hope your car doesn't sink.

So...about that S of yours? Was it the factory S exhaust hardware that you swapped onto your GT or an aftermarket part? And do you know what they put onto (formerly) your S before putting it on the lot?

Asks the guy who might drive out to Dimmit this weekend.

The exhaust on the S and GT is technically the same Sport Exhaust.

Good to know. But he had them swap whatever was on his S onto his GT. So I'm curious in general but also wondering if that means the S now has OEM S exhaust or...?

You probably missed his earlier post where he explained he was swapping the Velocity exhaust and 200 cell cats. So I assume the GT's sport exhaust (and cats) are going into the S.

The original S (secondary) cats went back on, but the GT's (new)exhaust went on the S. everything went back on perfectly. So yes the S will have a new exhaust but older (2011) cats.

OK, so the S now has a new GT exhaust and its original cats. But new GT exhaust is the same factory part (or painfully similar) as the S part. So the S on Dimmitt's lot has effectively stock cats and exhaust.

And you had 200 cell cats on an S? You must like it loud. I'm on the fence over getting an S because the stock exhaust is a bit louder than I'd like. Looking forward to hearing your GT roar.

BTW, any central FL git togethers? Seems like we all ought to meet once Karl has his GT to show off.

Thumbs up

yes, it is a bit louder but nothing that is ear piercing as other high end cars I have heard. Very nice gurgle to it especially on the downshifts. And a great growl at start up.

yes, the S is stock exhaust.

I would be up to a git together in Central Florida.
