Can DBS wheels be put on a DB9?

I am being told that DBS wheels -- 8.5x20 and 11x20 -- should not be installed on a DB9 (08-10). Does anyone have any idea why this is? I have seen it done on several DB9's and the widths seem to be within tolerances. With the 11's on the back the car shouldn't need the spacers any more so was looking at this option rather than spend the money on spacers. Any help here would be great. Thanks in advance

Thanks guys,

1. Do the fronts still need spacers, I think the stock wheels are 8.5's also.
2. What tire sizes are you running, same as factory or larger?
3. Back to a tire question---- Mich PSS's or Conti DW's???? Both seem to get rave recommendations on the Vantages. I have had both before on my AMG's and like them both. Well the Conti's were the DWS version which I know is slightly diff. I had felt a vibration on them when cold and unused for several days, also a tad bit of road noise pending road type. The PSS's had none of those issues. The Conti's issues were not bad enough for most people to care. So hence the question. PSS's appear to be $50 more a tire on average.

I really did some research tonight on them. Saw many posts by you guys from years back when the same question was brought up. I never saw answers to the actual issues they might cause, but your answer, I think by you, was the same, but the rears stick out 27mm or so further than stock.

I finally found a few pictures of them on a DB9, not sure I like the look of the rears on the car. Takes away from the clean look a bit. Also didnt see anyone saying they had Velocity AP lowering springs and used them either, so that would worry me.

Thanks for all your input guys, I think I will just use spacers and then worry about wheels at a later time.

I will be purchasing a 2009 DB9 for sure this fall. Onyx Black or Met Silver ONLY, with Obsidian/silver stitching ONLY, with either transmission is okay. Prefer the sport pack wheels but was looking at options to square away for other rims in case the final car didnt have those, but was the choice car otherwise. Car must have less than 15k miles also.

I have enjoyed the time spent on the forum as a helper/non owner, but happy that I will finally join the ranks this fall.

Sheriff, I gotta tell you.. Don't do it. I felt the same way you do. I wanted them on my DB9 really bad. I bought a set and never even got the car off the lift with them on. They just don't look "correct". Yes.. They fit, but I sold mine immediately after trying it because it was so clear to me that they don't belong on a DB9.

Just my opinion for whatever it's worth. There's much better options out there in regards to wheels for a DB9 (at a fraction of the cost).

Good luck in your search for the perfect car! I love my DB9 so much, I'm having a hard time selling it since I got the DBS. I'm dragging my feet and procrastinating actively trying to sell. You're going to love owning a DB9.. )

I am NOT going this route, was quoted 3500US shipped for a brand new set, so was thinking in advance. Dont like the pics for the back ones, looks odd to me after I saw several. The DBS vehicles are great in them thought, but I cannot jump that much up financially and still meet my other goals.

Thanks for that advice my friend. Congrats on the F car too, it looks great. I am comfortably in Afghanistan now for the time being, but likely back for a month at Christmas time. From what we discussed about yours, I am thinking I need bluetooth phone, want Sat radio and iPod connectivity and figured if I bumped up cash just a bit, it would put me in a 09. BUT..... my criteria is less than 13k miles. I want to drive it and not worry about too many miles. I will start my looking seriously in Oct and plan to buy late Nov unless one crops up. Not totally out of the picture on yours though.

Stuart quoted me prices on a package and Telum is going to help on his end for some parts.

Speed----- your thoughts---- 100 cell cats which eliminate the secondaries I think, with standard rest of system----- what do you think about that setup?

Telum1 says it should be meaner sounding, louder more raw but still good for a conversation at 70mph. I don't mind how loud it is under power, but want to still take a date and talk or take a trip and she doesn't complain. Your thoughts on all this if you will.
